I'm thinking of buying a GooLoo jump starter in case of dead battery lockout and/or just plain old dead 12V battery. But then I go to thinking: where do I keep it? If I keep it in the car and I can't get into the car, it doesn't do me much good. If I keep it in the garage and the car has problems on the road, it doesn't do me any good. If I keep it in my other car, it can help me if that car needs a jump start, but it won't help with the MME unless I can get my other car to where the MME is stranded. So: what does everyone else do with their jump starters?

I will have to beg a good samaritan if I can’t open the door.

It's definitely a risk assessment.
I have one in the Frunk.
But I probably should keep it inside the car itself if weighing all the what-ifs.
But if I can get in the car, wouldn't I be able to open the Frunk with the 2-pull lever anyway? (or does that lever have some kind of electric assist required? It feeeeels mechanical)

My jump starters all weigh 3700 pounds or more. I can’t even keep them in the MME. ??

The lever connects to a cable behind it, the cable in turn pulls the frunk lock open. It has no electric needed.

Storing it in the vehicle only does you good if the 12V battery died with the doors unlocked. If the doors are locked when it died, then you're going to have to make a phone call (unless you have a string backup).

I keep mine in my ICE car, and can call a family member to bring it to me in a situation. Worst case I might need a ride and will have to come back with the jump pack later.

question… I thought the doors, front at least, had super capacitors that stored enough electricity to open the door in the event the 12v battery died. Is that understanding incorrect? For purposes of my question, let’s presume no software malfunction interfering with the doors.
Thanks

I ran a secret pull string from the frunk latch to the charge port so i can pop it if the battery is dead. I keep the jump pack in the frunk. Now it's not a secret anymore. :ROFLMAO: I think I copied the idea from someone else on here.

That only works if the doors were left unlocked.

Can the hood be opened from a small 9V (or any other) battery, like in this video for M3?

And another question - do we need a special jump starter or pretty much any will work? I have this one - https://a.co/d/aDRgLnH, stored in my wife's car trunk.

It will only work if the jump starter has a mode that allows you to override the safety function that checks for the presence of 12V before supplying power. I can’t tell if that one does, but I don’t see a button for it.

I wouldn’t worry about it.
