Why are all these FordPass functions grayed out?

So I decided to give Ford tech support a call. They helped me fix the Bluetooth issue. Basically everything had to be impaired, reset and start over. The only issue now is the walk away feature for phone as key. It unlocks on approach but won’t lock when I walk away.

Walk away lock is an option somewhere in your SYNC settings in the vehicle. It might have turned off when you went through the whole unpair, repair process? I'm not sure. But you'll want to check that.

Also, you need to walk fairly far away for walk away lock while using phone as a key. In a parking lot situation, it seems like I need to go at least 40 feet away? It's gonna depend on your specific phone and other factors. I have a Google Pixel 7 Pro.

Yes, it’s definitely toggled on. And I walked all the way down the block, more than 40’ for sure. I have an iPhone 14 Pro

There might be an iPhone specific issue in FordPass at the moment? I'll let others chime in... Or you can look in the recent FordPass discussions, I think that's where I'd quickly glossed by something about that.

I think walk away lock is working properly on my Android phone even with the latest FordPass but I'll admit I haven't been paying close attention lately. I usually lock the doors before I leave the car anyway.

My walk away lock has worked fine all day today - iPhone 14 Pro Max. But could be a cell issue where OP’s car is located.

iPhone 12 Pro Max. Walk away lock is mostly ok. It can glitch more often than I like though, Cycle the switch to off for a bit then back on. Honestly, Bluetooth can be flaky, I just press the lock button on the inside of the door as I’m getting out. That works.

Press and hold the start button then they’ll be active. it‘s a safety measure to keep you from inadvertently activating those when you first launch the app.

Make sure the phone is connected (Bluetooth) on exit and your Bluetooth problem is fixed. Toggle off the walk away lock setting and then back on? It has other sub settings horn lights etc.

Mine does the opposite and sleeps on approach. It is so happy it locked itself it honks and sends me a notification about it.

I don't use the "lock on leaving" feature because you can't exclude your home location and I don't want it to lock when it's in our garage.

Why are all these grayed out?

Happens to me as well from time to time. I press the lock button (wakes up the car) and then all functions reappear as available.
