Why did Ford release FordPass v5 with so many problems?

It's been in development for two years... maybe even longer. I met one of the developers who told me how the new app was going to function almost a year ago. The problem with the old app was how unreliable the current status was. I was surprised that it was just released widely.
When I use the app to open the rear hatch all the windows and the hatch open! When I use the app to close the windows only three windows respond.. ha

So many scary statements here..
1. They've actually spent over a year on this. ?
2. There are multiple developers working on this, I honestly assumed based on the quality of the app and it's feature set this was part time work by a junior developer.
100% serious here, besides the paak stuff this should be a wrapper around some apis.

Not speaking out of my a**, I don't write code anymore but ive managed more mobile development teams than I care to remember.
Yeah I didn't pry too deeply but it wasn't an overnight product and it supports all Ford vehicles (my Bronco shows up - just like the previous version but now the miles to empty seems to accurate unlike before). The new app does seem barebones currently and was surprised it didn't get EA testing for a year.

5.0 sucks on a Samsung Galaxy 24+ the public charging only works once in awhile and when you list the chargers there are a ton of them that are not listed even with all boxes unchecked.

I really didn't think it through although they made up make the app look prettier they deleted a lot of things because the overhead of the app was too much for the coding professionals writing the app that was clear they offloaded one section of it to connect to services which makes sense including your payment information and all that and what type of credits you have left based on the free charging they offered but they didn't allow us to know where that is we had to play a guessing game with them installing the app was not easier it was pushed to every and updated automatically which caused havoc the car didn't work properly it wouldn't open with the phone it stopped working you couldn't charge the only way to fix it was completely delete the old app and then reinstall the new app but once you did that you lose all your settings and have to go back into the car and turn your car back into phone as a key it was a huge waste of time. Something about convenience it's no longer convenient if you have to waste so much of your time trying to figure out what these overpriced developers are trying to present to you it was a failure to deliver something that wasn't completely baked and corporate continues to baked things it seems that people are running arou each other spending a lot of time with Youtubers and other things instead of making sure that the product works right and that is my faith in the Ford diminished more and more the more pain cause the more time they waste these are the things that are most important in our not the features in the app but when they make something not work in order for to make it look different or work better it's no better than that old product unfortunately marketing departments and Ford are not working correctly either because they didn't provide any information on this app I had to spend a nor amount of time with a very helpful for person but I should've never had to make a phone call and wait for somebody that knew what they were doing to help me their intentions were with this new app because they did not make it clear the fucking thing is she kept saying well everybody wants this I got why I don't want this I don't care about all this stuff I just wanted to work all these things that people ask for sometimes are just silly and they're small majority because the sm speak the loudest but the reality is the other folks just wanted to work can we just get your apps to work in your car to work properly we've all been testers for way too long you need to provide the goods and services that you promised at the time of purchase and you haven't don down the road way too often.

i just came to say i have zero problems with the new app. i don't love the change from a UI perspective necessarily but it works perfectly fine...

note: i never used the old trip planner (i frankly couldn't find it) so i don't really care that it's missing. everything else is here, i'm just used to the old UI so i knew where all the buttons were but i know that's partly just me being an old man and complaining about change

Is there a Tesla station with a MagicDock anywhere close? That would help you rule out the Ford part if it works correctly. I’ve used P&C on Tesla on one of my routes and consider it to be quite reliable.

You will have to decide how much time you want to put into $25 in power on the EA Network. I get it, but if it were me, I would have rather had a free Ford sunshade that fits the car. Or maybe a free adapter to another quality network…
