Well, for me, I always wanted to own a Mustang, so I just went ahead and ordered one. Now I am shocked and dismayed to find out that other Mustang owners don’t think I bought a true Mustang because it’s an EV and doesn’t look like a Mustang.

I hope you don't worry too much about what other owners think. You know things they don't.

This Mustang II gem did 0-60 in 13 seconds. I'll bet they consider this a "true" Mustang.

I was looking into buying a RAV4 Prime when I discovered the Mach-e. I was immediately smitten to the point that I talked my wife into taking the R4P, allowing me to order the Mach-e. I have owned 5 Fords ( including 3 trucks), so for me it's an added bonus that it's a Ford!

Also, some of the "real Mustangs" from the eighties were really just butt ugly designs with the era's ascetic of bulbous tail light lenses, fat swooping fender girth, and such. Were they really Mustangs or not?

i was talking to some friends and we got into a debate on why do people buy their Mach E.. Is it because its Mustang? or is it because its an SUV? or is it Tech?

100%. At $43,895 for my MachE it was the exact price to maximize my states tax incentives - and we’ll I’ve fallen in love with all the other facets. Driven an EV since 2013/4 so was not new to the EV game.

Price is one. Wanted a BEV with certain specs, and most either don't meet my specs (ie: Bolt and leaf, id.4, etc), or are too expensive (>$50k after tax rebate), or are not well supported in Michigan (many EVs are only compliance cars, only well sold in about 7 states. Tesla is a better than a lot of compliance cars, but definitely served better is some parts of the country than others, and where I am at (Michigan) is one of the locations with limited serviceability. No dash and fewer buttons is also major minus for Tesla to me.

The number one reason is lack of competition or in other words Why Not? No other BEV is better (with what I care about) for it's price and number of dealers / service centers within a 50 mile radius.

I wanted a cool looking, super fast, BEV, coupe style SUV. Didn't want a Tesla, but the Model Y really fit what I wanted. I've always been partial to Ford and owned a few, so I was thrilled when they announced this.
Don't necessarily care about Mustang name. Don't get me wrong, Mustangs are awesome, but I don't care that this is called a Mustang or not.

Heh, I can remember $0.399/gallon gasoline. I was too young to drive, but I remember it. Yeah, I busted out some grumbles too when it went above $0.999/gallon.

I think the MME would look great in this color! If it were an option, I’d have ordered it.
