PAAK worked fine for me for a while. Then, it stopped working. Wouldn't connect. So today, for fun, I decided to give it one more try. I didn't bother before because I don't really care, although it is nice to not have to grab the fob to just go put something in it (until Ford adds "don't lock on walkaway if in my garage).

Anyway, I'm sure some would disagree, but I'm pretty technical. Actually wrote code before many here were born (COBOL). Lots of home automation in my house that I setup, even added the starting of the car from Google Assistant when that was posted.

After updating to the latest version of FordPass, I began.

On the car I deleted all PAAK. I deleted my phone from Sync. I deleted both connections on my phone. I rebooted the phone, and turned the car off and opened the door.

Added the phone to Sync, added PAAK, got prompted for entering a passcode, and then of course it couldn't find a phone when it came time to save. Tried another 3 or 4 iterations, then gave up.

Simply ridiculous. What a waste of 30 minutes.

I was never able to setup PAAK if I had first done the Sync bluetooth pairing. I had to unpair Sync and clean up Sync/PAAK bluetooth connections on my phone, then PAAK paired just fine. Add pairing for Sync afterwards.

Just what we all needed. PaaK is crap thread #347.

I truly am sorry it doesn't work for you. It won't work reliably on my wife's phone either. She carries the fob.

On the other hand, I've used nothing but PaaK in 14 months.

You might want to include some details like what phone and OS you are using. Or not, if you just want to whine.

What are you doing when you leave your car somewhere for service? Does the valet code work for that purpose or did you leave them with your fob?

I kinda messed myself up on Friday when I was at the dealership because I handed the fob to a Ford representative who I was meeting with so he can stage my car a certain way and then I forgot to get it back from him. I left the dealership without realizing my fob was in his pocket because my wife had her fob with her (which she doesn't usually carry it but she had plans to use the car on Saturday and put it in her purse). He called me from his hotel later that evening so I had to make arrangements to meet him near the airport the next morning prior to his flight back to Michigan.

Moral of the story: Remember to get your fob back, especially if you are used to using PaaK. :)

I get the fob from my wife and give to the service department.

Seriously. You'd think Mr Pompous There's-Already-A-Million-Threads-For-That Dude on every newbie post would realize he didn't need to add another on this topic. ?

I have 2 fobs. Never give cars to valets. Dealer gets fob when we drop it off.

Why? Do you know a fix?

Pixel 4a. Android 12.

Feel free to use the Ignore thread function if you don't want to read any thread.

I've used PAAK for almost a year now. The past month its been buggy as hell, to the point where I've had to use my password multiple times to start the car. I'm not sure if its the car or if its the new builds of iOS.

iOS 15.4.1 has been an utter crap release.
I’ve been PAAK only for 12 months now - I sure wish everyone else’s experience with it matched mine.

I've had my car a year now. I've used PAAK exclusively during that year. Works 100% of the time. My phone is a Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra. I suspect that most problem are phone problems. Possibly apps creating issues with connectivity.

Another 12 month user with no huge issues. I mean every now and then it won’t immediately connect, sometime is asks for my password. I have a higher tolerance for issues than most probably.

Trying to remember since it's been 14 months since I set mine up initially. I think I may have gotten a new phone in that time and had to set it up anew.

I seem to remember I had to turn off my VPN for it to work (just during setup), but who knows that might have been something else
