I can't even get a dealer to do the recall. I've taken it to two different dealers to have it done and both times they just didn't. Took my car in for literally nothing twice.
I just got mine back from the dealer, he gave me the report like everything was great and told me I was all set. I look at it and it says "Cannot complete recalls 21C22 and 21S42 as they require a Ford certified body shop". This rep said that Ford wasn't letting them do the recalls and that they had to send it out.

Then why the hell did you take my car for 2 recalls that you knew you couldn't do?

I even called them earlier this week to confirm they had the parts, and they said they did. I talked with the rep when I dropped it off last night, he said "We can do the Roof glass tomorrow but not the windshield glass because we don't have the parts". Sure, I can live with that, but to get it back with nothing done? Talk about incompetent.

I'm not having my glass replaced as well. Will just let the windshield and roof glass crack, gonna happen in 2-3 years in my area and replace it at that point.

Glass replacement is not a required part of the recall work being done to the windshield. The windshield would only be replaced if it were damaged during reinstallation.
Yes, I called and asked to clarify. When I called to schedule, they kept saying the glass had to come in ??‍♀. But i called to ask and they said they just resealed it.

I finally got the call yesterday that everything was ready (I had gone in 12/30 to start) so I dropped it off this morning. Got a few pings for locking/unlocking the door. Then I check FordPass to see if they've moved it. Yep a few miles down the road to a collision repair place. That collision repair place happens to be the local Chevy dealer! How much is it killing Ford to pay Chevy to do this?

Well, Ford pays a fixed amount for the recall, is the Chevy dealer also owned by the Ford dealer? Either way, they just take it to a reputable collision or glass place, Chevy just might be their go-to spot for body/glass work.

Different owners, I just hope that they take it there because they do good work. I just know that the Blazer I bought there was a lemon and I couldn't get rid of it fast enough.

I took mine in to the dealer last week for the 10K service, software update and recalls. The dealer has called me twice with updates, they did the service and software update last week then took the car to an independent body shop for the glass recalls. The service rep said they would be doing the glass work on Monday, and I did get some alerts on my phone, 12V battery and passenger airbag, so it seems they must have been doing that work yesterday. The alerts have cleared today, but the car location still appears to be at the body shop.

I had been trying to get a dealer to take care of the windshield removal and reseal and the panoramic roof reseal recalls on my 2021 Mustang Mach E first edition since I first was notified of the recall. We were living in Indiana at the time. I kept getting the run around by the dealership who had delivered my Mach E that they couldn't get it scheduled, it was so complex to organize, they wouldn't return my calls, the service agent kept changing, etc. I was so fed up with that dealership that I tried a second dealership in the area but they never followed up at all.

We moved to SW Missouri in July 2023 and in December I worked with the closest Ford dealer in Joplin (they were extremely responsive and great to deal with) and they got it scheduled for December 18, 2023. It was supposed to take 2-3 days but when the auto glass repair firm was removing the windshield, they broke the windshield. I was worried that might happen as windshields are usually attached very well and I can imagine are very difficult to remove intact. The dealership had to order a replacement and it took a couple of weeks for them to receive the new windshield. It's a unique windshield and had to be ordered directly from Ford. After it arrived it was installed very promptly and they completed the panoramic roof reseal. From the time of receipt of the replacement windshield it took them only a couple of days to complete the work. I picked my Mach E up on January 13. The dealership provided me free use of a loaner Mustang Mach E from December 18 through January 13 when they had possession of my Mach E to do the recalls.

They did VERY nice work. What a difference a truly responsive dealership made in getting these recalls done. It did take a bit longer that anticipated but that was because the old windshield broke when it was being removed and they had to order a new windshield.
