So I took my Mach-E in for the windshield and software update recalls (roof was already replaced not too long ago due to a crack once received) on January 20th and they are still not done. The first day they attempted the windshield recall, the glass company cracked the windshield and Ford had to order a new one. Ordering the new part took about a week and a half and I get a phone call that when it was received, it was cracked as well. Now currently waiting for the new windshield to come in and as of yesterday Ford is still waiting. My Mach-E has almost been at the dealership for three weeks. Is it worth asking for free kWh of charging for this long wait for my car? Didn't know if anyone has had this tough experience with the recall. I'm assuming the software update went through because on the app my range jumped up like 50 miles and has gone down 1% since being there.

Been waiting since November 15 for new windshield. Scheduled for March 1 now
The recall is not for a new windshield, it's a remove and replace. New is only when they break the old one during the R&R.

Mine is scheduled for tomorrow. I know my dealership wanted to have access to a replacement windshield in the case if it breaks during recall work

If you're making payments on the car, ask them to cover a months worth of car payments (once it's been there for a full month, that is)

It's line item 3 on my paperwork. Warranty refund for down time.

Did they push back when you brought that up or did they accept making the payment no questions asked?

Sorry to hear. My MME has been in the shop 4 times for the brake TSB and PaaK for a total of 10 days. I'm not doing the windows for this reason, I don't want weeks of waiting for parts. I hope they get this fixed for you soon.

Complete opposite actually. The dealership was the one who asked me if this was something I'd like to request since my car was in the shop for as long as it was. I didn't know a payment refund was a thing!

Yeah, if you do decide to do them I would definitely confirm with your dealer they have extra parts available.

Quick update, the glass company is at the dealership today performing the windshield recall. The dealership hasn't said a word about reimbursement on my monthly payment. I will still bring it up since it is so close to 30 days.

So I brought this up to my dealership as it was exactly 30 days upon return of my vehicle and they knew nothing about payment reimbursement. Do I need to call the finance department?

Unfortunately I don't have much additional information as this was all handled by my dealership. They initiated it (however that gets started) and just let me know when it was approved and my check was ready for pick up. Maybe the labor item code for the warranty refund on the photo of my invoice might be of some help?

I know others have gotten the refund as well, and I read on another comment by @clhardy5 that he initiated his refund through a Ford rep. Maybe he could provide some additional insight?

Wish I could be more help!

Sort of the same for me. I had a customer service rep with a case number after dm'ing Ford on this site and complaining about how long it was taking. (Mine was a bad drive motor problem)....However, the first one that mentioned the car payment reimbursement was my dealer service rep. The Ford case manager took it from there and got the payment approved and sent to me. Also, I'm NOT making payments on my car (used my savings), BUT, they calculated what an 'average' payment would be and sent me that. I've already received it.

What makes you think Ford will reimburse you for a monthly car payment? This is not part of the recall guarantee, is it? They had my car for over 4 weeks and covered the cost of a rental while it was in their shop, which I thought was right... but a payment reimbursement seems like a stretch.
