Would you fix your own Mach-E

How many of you would attempt to work on your MME?

And turn a perfectly good repairable car into a disposable commodity like a smartphone ?
Disrupt multiple industries, small businesses and livelihoods?
Screw lower income people out of a way to get affordable transportation?

Hell no.
So you guys don't think Ford might do to the MachE what Tesla is doing right now?

Powertrain, battery, HV system should be very reliable.
I have had 2 Prius (prii?) that went 180 k miles without any brake change.
On my i3, about the only thing I have had to do (after 4 years included maintenance by BMW) is change the 12V battery - pre-emptively.
In a conventional vehicle, you get a good indication of when the SLI battery (starter lighting and ignition) is going bad from slow/lazy engine cranking. On a BEV with small 12V battery and no big loads, funny things can start to happen and it can be difficult to trace it to 12V battery. So just change it.

Where did you see about battery replacement? I've had to replace my 12V battery every 3 years, like clockwork.
That is very often IMHO. I've got my vehicle now for 6 years , started the 7th year and the battery is working very fine. Of course maybe living in a cold country they put higher amp battery and more resistant to extreme cold?

That sounds even longer than what I've seen so far... 6-8k miles and every 6 months!
No problem here we swap tires from summer to winter or vice versa so tire rotation every time we swap, just go with the season.

No I really believe that in these cars you are better off with AGM battery more than standard lead acid because there is no alternator charging the battery while driving and you are a DC-DC charger for the 12V.

Or me living in the very hot country, the batteries (12V) just don't live long, no matter what I do.

Like others said, not much things that will need to be repaired, fixed, changed on an EV.

But the usual wipers, rotating tires, doing the Summer to Winter tire swaps, etc...

One thing I wonder, brakes on the MME (and other EVs) are they hydraulic or electric (like on trailors)???
Friction brakes are hydraulic.

I will probably do all maintenance/repair myself EXCEPT motor/controllers/HV battery and BMS...

Fix what? My complaint Ford Focus Electric is 8 years old and nothing but tires and a new windshield.

Three years down the road, I would be looking for someone to make/sell me replacement batteries that are more advanced.

why would you want 'more advanced' batteries if your current pack is still under warranty and getting you the range you need?
