So to summarize changes Donna said were made:
  • New in-house rear motor based on F-150 Lightning design
    • 480 horsepower
    • 650 ft-lbs or better (I assume total output from both motors)
    • 0-60 in <3.5 sec
    • Final drive ratio change from 9.05 to ~9.7 (to give more low-end torque)
    • Will also be used as front motor for GT/Rally models
  • New on-board AC charger from a different supplier (I assume same 11.5 kW spec)
  • Coolant system re-pipe to accommodate new charger and new LFP pack plumbing
    • 2023.5 vehicles already have new design
  • DC charging curve 10-80% speed improvement from 45 to 36.5 minutes
  • New "lamps" (I assume headlamps)
  • Rally model range targeted at 250 miles (less aerodynamic than GT due to suspension lift and spoiler)
  • Tow hook available as accessory on Rally
  • 5 second power limit will be "significantly expanded" [from other videos]
  • Rally will retain the same LG 4S NCM 91 kWh battery pack architecture as now
Nobody has asked her the big dollar question of whether the HVBJB was redesigned to support higher amperage (that question might be forbidden). Or whether the extended power limit and faster DC charge times will eventually come to existing Mach-E's. If the HVBJB was redesigned for this car, then we won't get those changes.

I appreciate the summary. Never watch these videos, they are always 80% longer than they need to be.

Well we should all know after the first of the year. I am fine with what I have but am interested to see what Ford has done. If no new part then I can not see how they can squeeze too much more out of the existing equipment but there probably is some tweaking to the power curve (there better be as they stated the Rally will have more.) Or the new part route that will leave all the current speculators/enthusiasts high and dry as they will not be able to get the boost.

I'll wait and see what Blue Oval spits out in 2025. In the meantime, I'll just be driving my 2022 MME and smiling.

I’m bracing myself for basically no further improvements to the 2021-23 cars for acceleration and charging times. Womp womp.

My guess is that she can't speak about the HVBJB because it could be hold against Ford in the current lawsuit. She, for example, can't say: "Oh ya, it is completely redesign now because the previous design was faulty."

Is there a current lawsuit? I thought it was just the NHTSA taking a second look into it?
