These are thoughts that occurred to me as I sat in my MME GT PE 25 hours after signing the lease, which was 2 weeks ago now.

1) The sound system sucks. I was expecting, certainly hoping, for it to be significantly better than the one in my 2015 Mazda but, alas, that doesn't seem (sound?) to be the case. We'll see after I've had time to fiddle with it.

2) Velocity Blue Metallic looks better than I thought it would.

2) The air conditioner might be adequate but I'm disappointed in it so far.

3) Propulsion sound - I thought this was ridiculous, hokey at best, when viewing videos and discussions in forums. I still do but I tried it out just for the heck of it. In Whisper and Engage modes I cannot hear it at all. In Unbridled I can hear it only if I really put my foot into it.

3) I love one pedal driving; I knew I would when I test drove a couple. I come from more than 60 years of driving manual shift vehicles and have always disliked automatics. One pedal driving gives me even more control than a manual.

4) One pedal driving does not universally replace braking. I learned that almost the hard way by nearly re-ending a guy who had slowed unexpectedly while turning onto an Interstate on-ramp. Learning to judge stopping power and distances, since they are infinitely variable based on pressure on the accelerator pedal, will take some time but should be fun.

5) I've seen lots of questions regarding one pedal driving and brake lights. My wife drove behind me when leaving the dealership and she assured me the brake lights do come on.

6) Concerning the "shift lever" on the column: The first car I drove had a 3 speed on the column. Pull and up for reverse, pull and down for 1st, in the middle for neutral. Well, look at that. Except that there's only 1 forward gear the pattern's the same. So, yeah, I have no problem with it.

7) Headlight control location is awkward but I'll get used to it. Wiper controls seem indecipherable at first glance.

8) Charging from 110V outlet is painfully slow. I'm hoping I can easily adapt the 240V outlet used previously for an RV. It's on a 50 amp circuit breaker with 6 gauge wire and ground wire is attached to ground so I'm hopeful. If it does I will not need the unit that's supposed to be installed as part of Ford's Power Promise. I didn't realize the mobile power cord had the 240V capability: that's on me, of course.

9) Unbridled mode is a whale of a lot of fun. I will use it sparingly but use it I will.

10) I strongly disliked the glass roof for what should be an obvious reason. In fact, the first MME I was going to pick up came in to the dealer with a cracked roof. The vehicle is in desperate need of a traditional sunroof that can be opened for better ventilation.

11) Using the touch screen is not nearly as difficult as I expected. A bit of a learning curve but nothing dramatic.

12) Even my wife likes the seats!

13) I'm hoping I can connect my phone (Android) and/or iPad to the sound system to play my own set lists without having to upload all my contacts and so on or get another Sirius/XM subscription.

14) I feel very disconnected from the road in this thing. Steering is way too loose, easy, I'm not sure what the right word is but there is no road feel at all through the steering wheel. It's disconcerting for a vehicle of such high performance, although my Mazda has the same problem, though not as severe.

15) I have to put the steering wheel too high for my driving position to see the dash behind it.

16) I don't know if I like that it moves the seat back when I shut the car off and moves it forward when I start it up. I figure it's likely configurable and just one more thing to figure out.

17) I'm concerned about parking on a hill. I know it's got a parking brake lever and I'm going to have to learn how to use it.

Overall I'm happy with the vehicle and I look forward to some adventurous trips with it.

Welcome to the pack.

a couple of things that you might like that I did.

Put the fade on the stereo to the middle of the back seat. This takes care of the front middle speaker dominance issue. The stereo sounds much better this way.

I put ceramic tint on the glass roof and it works great for heat blocking.

Set your headlights to automatic and you don’t need to worry about them.

Put that baby in Unbridled and let it rip…

Enjoy your Mach E.

No issues in almost 4 years parking on a hill.

Headlights? In almost 4 years I think I touched my brights 5 times, the auto is spot on, much better than my other car with auto lights and high beams.

Yeah, I've since played around with it quite a bit and found that placement to have the best sound. I mostly listen to older stuff (50s, 60s, 70s and soft rock) that does not have the dynamic range more modern music has. I found that the more modern stuff sounds better.
Fortunately I found one without the glass roof. I'll have to look into that concerning the headlights. I'm still going through the manual trying to learn all the operations and nuances. Unbridled mode with PE was the specific reason I got a GT. It will definitely get a good workout. Thanks for replying.

Yeah, I need to get through that section of the manual, as well as several others. Still learning!

I found that if I press the brake pedal before putting it in neutral the display indicates the parking brake has been activated. Still gotta learn more about the "auto" part of headlight control.

I've been through this section of the manual, as well as many others to learn about those items and others. Thanks for the reply!

I'm a little puzzled when someone describes the cooling capacity of the Mach-E less than good<>great.

I live in the Air Conditioning capital of the world (claimed by the part of Texas Houston/Galveston is located) and the Mach-E is my daily beater, so to speak. The cooling capacity has never had me wanting and I keep every vehicle, domicile, office set at 68F. (worked in dark data centers since the late 80's)

There must be some Mach-E's that aren't performing to spec?

The steering assist is tied to the drive mode you're using. Whisper has the most assist, Unbridled the least. To me, it's still over-assisted and the steering is oddly vague given that it's a rack and pinion. 🤷‍♂️🐩

You should be able to connect your phone with Android Auto or CarPlay and use the play lists that are on your phone through your phone's native music app. 😁🐩

The Ford Mobile Charger is known to be somewhat unreliable. There are people who use it without any problem at 240V and then there are people who have had it die on them. If you already have a 14-50 outlet that you can repurpose, have Ford deliver the EVSE and have their contractor move the outlet to somewhere convenient for you to charge. 🤔🐩

Number 15 sucks. I can't read the speed display without moving my head because it's partially blocked by the steering wheel. The instrument panel needs to be moved down between 5/8" and 7/8". 😕🐩

You can turn off that automatic seat moving thing. Neither of my MMEs had it turned on when I bought them. I tried it in my 2021 and didn't like it so I turned it back off. 🤷‍♂️🐩

2) the AC is not dependent on an engine driven compressor. Its It’s the quickest to cold I’ve ever seen.

17) See “Electric Parking Break” section in your manual. It’ll set itself automatically on a hill / slope. You can manually set it after you are in Park. It’ll automatically release when you go into D or R and press the accelerator.

The A/C in the 2025 is not the same system as the 2021-2024 MME. I have heard that even though it has the same or more heat carrying capacity as the older unit, the heat pump system does take a little more time to ramp up. Forum members who have 2025s have been advised by other forum members to consider using cabin preconditioning prior to entry on hot days. 🤔🐩

A/C - I live in Florida. The A/C works great. Cools very fast.

1PD - Works great also but it’s not adaptive cruise control, I.e, it doesn’t monitor the traffic or traffic lights or stop signs in front of you. If you need to stop fast or you misjudge the stopping distance, you have to intervene with your foot on the brake. The 1PD will not save you.

Headlights - Put it in “Auto” and forget about it. There was an early glitch where the auto was staying on. You would be asking “What is that chime for?” I believe that’s been fixed. I never don’t leave it in auto and have no. Issues with it.

Wall charger - Sure, you can use the mobile if you want. It will last about two years and then start to malfunction ( but still charges). You can then get it replaced under warranty And start all over again. Why not just let Ford install the wall charger now and put the mobile in the trunk?

Unbridled - Once I found that, I never turned it off.

Panoramic roof - Apparently you didn’t get one but it has a great coating on it that really blocks the heat. Again, I live in Florida and it hasn’t been an issue. Lots of other owners feel the same way.

Seat - mine moves back and then forth when I get in. Preference, I guess, but I don’t see what the issue is here.

Hill parking - IIRC, there was a change that now sets the parking break every time you put the car in park. You can test it by listening for the disengagement and engagement while sitting in the car and selecting D then P.

It’s a fun toy. You’ll enjoy it.

Nice.

I haven’t opened a 22 GT, and I’m pretty happy with the audio system. I like loud music, and it sounds clean and balanced.

The question I have about 1P and brake lights is whether it comes on too often.

The seat going back is a setting called easy entry.

The parking brakes come on automatically when needed. Like parking on a hill.

8) if nobody mentioned it, the plastic for the RV style connectors can melt. They are not designed to withstand max amperage draw for several hours at a time. You can replace the receptacle with a connector that is but it’s not the $20 model from Home Depot. State of charge YouTube channel has a lot of good information for this.

The existing wiring, if it’s six gauge THHN, should be fine. You can also just take off the outlet and then hardwire the connection to an EVSE charger. Probably the one Ford gives you
