Thanks for clarifying. That's such bullshit from ford though.

No argument there. 2024 Lightnings are getting getting a new APIM update (Sync 25211) that finally shows the Tesla chargers on the maps for the EV owners. The 2024 ICE trucks are also getting it and getting kareoke.

The only thing that gives me hope about this is the "at this time" in the bulletin. Reading the rest of the language in the bulletin one could easily conclude updates for these vehicles had been stopped forever, including any OTA that includes an APIM update.

I wonder if this has anything to do with some of us with 22/23 Lightnings who have not received any updates in literally years. @Ford Motor Company tried to help with mine but evidently was unable to get any results (I do appreciate the effort though).

This has an even worse smell when considered alongside Ford's increasing hostility to knowledgeable owners or other non-Ford technicians trying to address these problems when Ford can't or won't. I'm pretty sure it is just one hand of the corporate behemoth not knowing what the other one's doing, but someone there really ought to grasp the overall impression it's giving and fix it.

Ring your service advisor and ask them to see if TSB (or FSA) 25S49 applies to your car. We are unable to look that up anymore.

Hi guys, can someone look up my VIN

The 25S65/25V404 recall needs to be completed but just last week I got the Powertrain Malfunction/Reduced Power and the High-Voltage Battery Warning. However, the car seemed to run just fine, aside the "service vehicle soon" warning. Dropped off the car on Saturday but the dealership won't be able to diagnose till Friday (it takes this long? SoCal-Buena Park area)

Does the look-up give any insight to what the issue could be?

Thanks for the help!

Need a lookup, please and thanks in advance! VIN: 3FMTK3SUXMMA28315

Symptoms: charged to 100% for travel. Got loaded and rolling and under a mile from home it throws "depleted battery / stop safely now" with a red battery bar and a red 0 miles range. Baby it home at 15 mph and get it in the garage. Rebooted it, same message. Tried to pull codes and didn't get anything. Odd. Anyway, we don't trust it so we unload into the old-enough-to-drive Honda Fit and off we go. I left the windows down and hood pop'd so that if we had a dead 12v when we got back I could at least easily get back in.

Returned home, boot it up, no errors, ready to head to our destination. 12v was replaced 6 months back. It seemed healthy when full-on (15v, being charged) and when off (12.7v)? Nothing else super obvious looking at sensors and as mentioned, codes came back clean even when toggling on all modules, although CarScanner now really wants to paywall me so who knows, it could be full of it on the free version.

12.7 is low for a battery that was replaced 6 months ago. Try doing the BMS learned values reset steps and then take it for a drive.

Unfortunately, I'm no longer permitted to look up VINs. My account will get permanently blocked (by Ford) if I do.

You need to call your service advisor and ask them to check your DTCs for that failure you had. I've sure it will show up. They need to provide some guidance to you on what happened and what to do about it. Should be covered by the powertrain warranty.

I suspect the guidance will be "we'll make an appointment for you in 4-8 weeks and don't drive it til then." Or it'll be "it was just a fluke don't worry" but my spouse isn't the type to handle that well. Our local dealership experiences have been pretty bad.

So... what you just said is "time to find a new car -- and not a ford."

And again @Ford Motor Company this is what the combination of unhelpful dealers (as always: some dealers are really good! But too many EV customers are stuck with dealers who aren't!) and Ford's newfound hostility to independent techs and shade-tree mechanics using the official diagnostic tools has added up to.

I have been investigating internally to better understand the FDRS situation. I don't have an answer - but 100% understand the situation and frustration from y'all on this. Hoping we can get to the bottom of it.

Well I'm not sure if you expected them to do it over the phone or not, but I apparently have to find a way there. Either drive it or tow it. Vastly less useful than it could be and zero information on what I should do, e.g. am I risking a crash during the 20 minutes of interstate (or country roads and then questionable cell coverage) to get to them?

I don't have high hopes for a resolution. I rather suspect they'll pull codes, find nothing was recorded and tell me to move along, despite us having a photo of the failure state.

Which will be back to my previous post of "time to start looking for a new car..."

Your car did not report any hard codes around the time time you posted your VIN check request. There are only some stored codes there, but it did not record any hard faults. Seems like just a glitch in the matrix.

That only happened to certain job 1 2021 Mach E's and F150's. Your car is on Sync 23242 which is not the latest, but not ancient, either. Connectivity seems to be working fine and it is not reporting any codes of concern. I can see you have not been sent any OTA's in the past 180 days, but that is just Ford's OTA process. I don't see anything wrong with your car that would prevent it from getting an update if they were to send you one.
