Could be a coincidence, but the two times today that I walked up to my Mach-E without my fob, it unlocked and started without delay or issue. Granted it's just been in the garage all day, but better than it had been before...

Yes. It is NOT installed and won't install when I click it.
Remove and reinstall the FordPass app on your phone? If that doesn’t work, then it’s time to call Apple support. They may kick you over to Ford.

According to my Watch, the FordPass-Watch app is using 2.1 MB ... so space should not be an issue.

BTW, such a small size suggests that it's probably just an extension of the phone app and probably cannot run independently. i.e. it really just relays your inputs to the phone app and the phone app sends the commands to the car.

If you haven't already ... shutdown and restart both your phone and your watch.

Go into the Apple 'Watch' management app (on your phone), scroll down to the list of 'Available apps', find the FordPass-Watch and tap 'Install'.

The watch uses *very* little power ... so it isn't very fast at doing things and tends to take a minute to install things even when they are small.

You could try to uninstall & re-install the FordPass app on your phone ... but I hesitate to suggest that because if you delete an app it will also delete all the data that belongs to the app. I'm not *sure* if that data would get reloaded when you log into your Ford Account on the app ... or if you'd have to re-configure your car again. For that reason ... I'd hold off trying that until you've exhausted all other options.

I can verify that at least in my case when I deleted and reloaded the app that it populated all the data once I logged in with my owner credentials. I was deleting it weekly during the battery issue time a couple of months ago, and reinstalling it to see if that would solve the issue (it did for awhile and then it came back). The current update seems to have solved that problem.

The 2016 Fusion is not a connected car so there is little benefit now in deleting Ford Pass and reinstalling it. Even though my rational mind tells me it will repopulate with my data I'm scared it will lose data. When my Mach E comes in I'll probably be forced to reinstall it to prevent the software issues everybody seems to be having but for now I'm going to wait. I also just called Ford Rewards Points center as my points from my Ford Rewards VISA aren't showing up in the Rewards Pass and the rep is trying to correct this issue so I don't want to mess with the account right now (were talking about ~60,000 points from the Visa card).

Thank you to everybody for trying to troubleshoot my problem.

If you don’t have any cars that currently use FordPass, there’s absolutely no harm in deleting and reinstalling it. In fact, I have a 2018 escape, which is connected, and I deleted and reinstalled the app a few days ago with no problem whatsoever. It came back onto my watch and the watch now also knows about my (non-activated) Mustang Mach E.

Just updated iOS app today. Stuck at the terms and conditions page as apparently I am unable to connect to the FordPass servers.

Ford Mustang Mach-E FordPass app updated today on iOS (v3.16.0) and Android 553EBC34-68DD-42A9-8DF8-29B67101E4A9

There were some questions about FordPass on Apple Watch functioning without the associated iPhone being nearby, so I finally had a chance to test it out with my 2018 Escape. Here's what I found. I started my Escape at home from my Apple Watch. My phone was with me. I drove off to Starbucks, deliberately leaving my phone at home (I had the Escape fob with me of course). Stopped the car and turned it off. I then tried to start the car from the watch several times.
The sequence to start a car from the watch is to tap and hold the Start icon, then a Refresh Icon appears and you tap that. Then a screen appears telling you that a Start request has been sent to the car with a Dismiss button at the bottom. Then the car starts.
The sequence worked properly when I was at home. When I was at Starbucks, I got as far as the Refresh button screen. When I pressed the Refresh button, the app on the Apple Watch "crashed" (exited back to the app universe). I tried it several times with the same result.
When I got home, I tried again, when my Apple Watch was back in contact with my iPhone and it successfully started my Escape.
One other interesting note, unlike the iPhone app, the Start button on the Apple Watch app will only let you start a car - it will not let you stop a car.
Since the issue appears to be a limitation of the FordPass Apple Watch app, I would expect the Mustang Mach E to have the same limitation.

One quick question . . . Is your Apple Watch +cellular, or WiFi only. I am wondering if my cellular Apple Watch would be different.

So in the furtherance of science, I left in the Escape that is connected without my phone and drove somewhere with no WiFi, and the watch would not start the car (My watch has cellular). It kept bombing out of the app. Went home, got my phone and still did not work. UNTIL I started the FordPass App on my phone. THEN and only then would the watch start the car. With the phone, and with FordPass running.

There are two broad categories of Watch apps...

One type (and the original type) is apps that are really just extensions of the phone app. For these apps, no actual code runs directly on the watch ... other than a user interface. When you interact with the watch it just conveys everything to the phone and the phone runs all the functions. The watch is a convenience in that you don't have to take your phone of your pocket, purse, etc. but it does have to be nearby. The watch normally talks to the phone via bluetooth low-energy. But if a phone in range the watch can switch to WiFi to see if the phone is at least on the same WiFi network (and will communicate that way if it can ... but it doesn't default to this since WiFi draws more battery power than bluetooth low-energy).

The other type (and this is more recent) are programs that can run entirely independent on the watch and need no phone. The upside is independence from the phone ... you could leave your phone at home and go for a run, etc. and these apps would all just work (it is popular for fitness apps to work this way). The downside is that these apps are noticeably larger (take up more storage on the watch) and use more power (so less battery life if you use them heavily).

Seems like Ford must have implemented the watch app via the original method ... especially since Ford expects we will mostly use PaaK -- which requires the phone to be with you anyway.
