Purchased new in ’22, GTPE, paid $1,9000 extra for Ford Co-Pilot Active 360 2.0 which included Bluecruise, Active Park Assist 2.0 and 360 degree camera. Park assist was never available and I got a credit, as I recall. Nowhere on the Window Sticker does it say anything about paying extra for a subscription or indicate that it’s a limited time service or that there would be an increased charge at a later date.
Ford Mustang Mach-E Why does Ford charge me for Bluecruise? I already paid! IMG_4941

I raised this question once before with no response other than it wasn’t for “hands free” Bluecruise. Nowhere on the Ford app which wants me to pay $800/year for Bluecruise does it say “hands free”. It says Bluecruise. Which I already paid for. See attached window sticker.

Ford has not responded to my concerns and I want to keep what I already paid for.
Suggestions?

I'm guessing that if you have a closer look at the paperwork that you actually signed, you might discover that it talks about it being a subscription after the initial purchase that I am guessing was for 3 years (and then you might have gotten the extra year for free, as many people did). My BC subscription is up this year on my '23. If I get a chance, I'm going to pull out my paperwork and find the relevant section...

Agreed. I have a 22 premium and the sticker said Blue Cruise. It does not have any mention of paid subscription after 3 yr. Interesting that the Connected Build-in Navigation does indicate a 3 yr included which means a subscription required after 3 yr. I believe that there is definitely a case here that the Blue Cruise comes with the car and no subscription required. Otherwise, Ford can start turning off other features in the car.

Did ya notice that Ford changed its branding a couple years ago from just “BlueCruise” to “Hand-On BlueCruise” and “Hands-Free BlueCruise”?

Several of us pointed out at the time that this branding was confusing and dumb. But maybe it was also in response to complaints like this.

I sympathize with the OP’s position. I really do. But it ain’t going anywhere. You got “Hands-On BlueCruise.” “Hands-Free BlueCruise” costs fifty bucks a month or four ninety-five for a year. LOL. Just cancel and wait for them to offer you a fair price.

100% WRONG
Window sticker is federally mandated legislation (Monroney Act, 1958) to prevent dealers from ”bait and switch” where they tell you one thing and deliver another. And there’s nothing in my original paperwork about Bluecruise, just the window sticker.

Years ago I bought a new Suburban off the dealer floor and the window sticker said it had running boards. Since there were no running boards on the actual vehicle, I asked the salesman where they were and he said that they install them as part of new vehicle preparation. When I went to pick it up, no running boards! After I finished explaining the Monroney law to the sales manager and what I was prepared to do to get my running boards, they were installed.

Sonos Blue, this is the explanation I was offered on this forum last year and I didn’t have time to mess with it and Ford didn’t charge me anything anyway so I didn’t follow up. Go to the Connected Services section of your Ford App and, if it’s the same as mine it says, BlueCruise. Nothing whatsoever about Hands Free, etc.

This looks like a classic case of Ford wanting to get paid over and over for something I already paid for.

So my question again is where to make my case? I already sent a message to whoever is on the Ford app comment section and no response.

This is a forum. This is not Ford. If you had spent time reading the forum, you would see the same arguments you made posted here years ago.

In short, get a lawyer or move on. No reason to rant here, won't accomplish anything.

Why would you ask for advice from people that are 100% WRONG?

If you feel that your dealer is violating a federal law, you will need to send a legal notice to the dealer that they are in violation of the law and seek to resolve the issue.
If that fails, you go to the next step.

Presumably when you activated Blue Cruise in the car, it said it was for 3-years. At least that's what I vaguely recall some 45 months ago when I bought the car. I've always known that it was for only 3-years. That said, I was able to extend my 3-years to 4-year subscription last year when it popped in the Ford Pass add that renewal time was coming up.

The window sticker doesn't mention everything the car has. But it won't mention stuff it doesn't have.

That’s all post purchase though.

When you pay $1900 for “Bluecruise” on the window sticker, you don’t have expect that to be “3 years of BC.”

The “3 years of Navigation” is clearly spelled out.

And in later years the 360 cameras became free and the car clearly came with a free trial of BC.

At the very least it’s a crappy way to do business. At most it’s false advertising.

Hire a lawyer to bring a lawsuit in your state court against Ford. You’re going to need at least an initial $20,000 retainer and you can plan on around $100,000 just to get it to the pre trial phase. Then you’ll lose. Why? Because your understanding of contracts law is wrong and Ford has better attorneys in all 50 states, plus Guam and Puerto Rico, than you do. On the bright side, though, if you have enough money lawsuits are something you can leave for your children to deal with, they genuinely last a very long time.

You paid for the hardware, not the ongoing service. Something for nothing is just a song.

“Bluecruise” as a line item on the sticker isn’t hardware.

There is probably good reason Ford changed it for future models.

Between this and the lack of disclosure on the power limits in the first year, there honestly may have been a case for a class action lawsuit.

I’m not the guy to start it and honestly it’s a bit too late at this point. Ford DOES disclose this NOW.

Good luck with that. You lose faster with class action lawsuits though. So that’s a plus. They’re virtually always nothing more than legal blackmail.

On a more practical matter, it was very clear to me when I bought my 21 that BlueCruise was a subscription based service that also required a hardware package to even get the ability to subscribe. Why was that so hard for others to understand? Willful ignorance? Wishful thinking? There’s no such thing as something for nothing. You paid for the hardware, nothing else.
