I hear a whining noise in the video.... was there not supposed to be one?

I do hear the HVAC, as well, but its less pronounced than the screen whining.

Maybe some people have more sensitive hearing than others? The whine sounds louder than the hvac to me....

Anyone else hearing it in the video? I hope I am not crazy.
I hear it...but probably because I'm listening for it too. lol

Will 15 seconds do?

The only noise I hear in that is the HVAC fans....
I hear electrical whining (the buzzing noise) in this video clearly.

It's an annoying sound to me. Due to the noise, I cannot tolerate sitting in my Mach E in garage/parking lot with the car on (so I turn it off, glad it's OK to turn off heating here in California). But it's not bothering while driving.

So, how about not using the phone as a key for awhile. Maybe use the fob and keypad. Would that work? Or is the phone as a key the only key to success?
(I only recently purchased my first smart phone, after years of telling students to put down their master and take back their lives. My house is all electric, solar power included, so at gun point I was forced to adopt a smart phone, making me the new guy on the block. No objection to technology [science teacher]. Just think it better to use it wisely.)

Guess I'm just old enough that the high frequency hearing loss is starting to kick in??

I've spent some time (several hours) sitting in the drivers seat (and passenger seat) in the garage playing with the various settings and haven't noticed it at all.

Sorry but this cracks me up.... The panic...

I mean you decide to go with a new car, issues will happen... Especially with this car.. It's new it's really new for Ford....

They made a heck of a car for their first real full electric... So let's give them time

Yes it's not fun to have issues when you have a new car and it is not working well but things will get resolved....

At least it's a small electrical or software glitch, not like a roof flying off on the Highway

I'm going to take delivery of mine but I know I might have issues at first.

My 2018 F150, even if Ford has had the top seller for years had issues. The doors would freeze and you couldn't open them up anymore.... Bad gasket, took a winter until they fixed the issue, it wasn't a brand new car it was the top selling pick up truck !!!!

Shit happens

I can only imagine how many issues there were with the first Model T when people started buying them. The people that did were earlier adopters and wanted to have the next best thing. That mass-produced car defined the move away from the horse and buggy into a whole range of choices in ICE vehicles. My feeling about this car is that it represents the future of transportation, and it's a lot more comfortable and stylish than the Model T. I've had a few little nuisance things, and they've been easy to navigate around, but overall it's a solid car and I'm in love with it. I'm sure the kinks others are experiencing will eventually be solved by Ford through OTAs and TSBs.

There lots of great threads here about the great cars people have received. However, attention is being paid to the problems, thus more posts on these. People worry.

Remember the old adage from newspapers: If it bleeds, it leads.

Mine is in the shop now for diagnostics after my LVB died for no apparent reason. I'm still committed to this car and have great faith Ford will make it right.

The other thing to remember:
curve copy.JPG

There are always more issues at the bleeding edge of technology.
Thank you! Of course there will be things that need adjusting, tweaking and fixing in a brand new, completely created from scratch car, especially an EV. This is the reason a lot of folks don't buy that first year. For me it's the excitement of being in on the ground floor even with the adjustments and tweaks and fixes. One day we will be able to look back and say, I was there at the start when Ford began the process of building that iconic car. I got one the first year they came out. I have always been jealous of other folks who have been able to say that. I felt they were adventurers. Now I can be one of those people, taking a chance on something brand spanking new with amazing potential. Yes there is risk, but I don't think we are hearing of bumpers falling off or roofs flying off. It's a solid vehicle. It needs some software tweaks. It will get fixed. Soon.

1)- You're NOT crazy. I can definitely hear a whine noise when I put my ear almost up against the top of the steering wheel. That's with no radio. HVAC off (Although you can still hear it with the HVAC on) and not driving.

2)- Yes you're very sensitive. I either never noticed it or it never bothered me until you said something.

To me, this is being unrealistic in expectations. Kind of like complaining about the chatter a DI engine makes at idle. (Which I think is annoying, but accept it as a part of life)

I guess I can add another benefit of being a child of the Walkman generation:

1)- Can't hear the MME dash whine
2)- Selective wife hearing excuse
Thank you. I think a big part of it is the specific tone which is very bothersome. The a/c noise doesn’t bug me at all. I also like driving with my windows open, I know lots of people hate doing that due to the wind noise.

I know lots of screens buzz a little, but at least in my Mach-E, the noise coming from the driver display is orders of magnitude louder than any computer monitor I have, the TVs around my house, my Google Home display, other vehicle displays I have encountered. I have to think back to those big bulky CRT monitors to recall hearing a similarly loud electronic buzz.

The noise is heard in my left headphone, there is no noise in the right headphone - but there is definitely a display noise (not only HVAC) in this video, though, I can say, not too irritating.

Agree 100%. A lot of very, very poor decisions made by the engineers.
Back to the basement with you, You come up only for scrapes food and when a few mache have some issues. Could say some more about you but Not going to waste any more time on you.

In this case, it is a definite benefit to not be able to be able to hear it!

Now yes there have been some issues and ford is working hard to fix and the problem. Things will happen with any new vehicle that is launched and the bugs will get worked out. The difference between a big problem and a small one is how well the manufacturer and addresses the problem.

Hang in there, stay warm the weather has not been fun. Ford will get this taken care of.

Some people may have years of concert ear damage more than others as well... so they're like "what noise?!"

Just saying lol
Yep, the only high frequency noise I'm likely to hear from mine, once I get it, is from the ringing inside my head
