After test driving a First Edition and then receiving the email about continued delays for the GT I had reserved, I decided to search for a First Edition that might be available after someone else refused their order. Late last week, I found one in Grapevine, TX and made the drive down from Arkansas to check it out. So now I'm officially an owner and I'm pretty thrilled with this car!

Also....let's just say that the drive back from the Dallas area to Northwest Arkansas was interesting to say the least. Not a lot of charging options on that route, and the last DC Fast Charger that was a planned stop was out of order when I arrived. After lots of range anxiety and sweating it out, I made it to a Level 2 charger and spent way more time charging than I wanted....but it got me home with a few miles to spare. Whew!!!!

I'd suggest taking a route through Oklahoma if you travel again. Oklahoma has one of the best charging networks in the country right now, which is crazy. Meanwhile looking on plugshare there are only like 4 or 5 DC Fast charging stations for all of Arkansas. I hope you guys get someone to put more in soon!

Beautiful car BTW!

My first two charging stops were in Durant, OK and then McAlester, OK. Durant was especially nice -- the DC Fast Charger was on their downtown square in the City Hall parking lot, with a nice local coffee shop a block away. By the time I walked to the coffee shop, ordered my drink, and walked back, my charge was almost finished.
The DC Fast Charger in McAlester was a little off the beaten path, but the staff of the taxi service where it was located was cordial and helpful. Also a positive experience.

But what got me was the DC Fast Charger in Roland, OK. It was in the parking lot of the Interstate Inn, and I spent about 30 minutes trying to get it to work. Never did. It seemed to be owned by the same company that owns the first two chargers I used, so I need to let them know about the failure. Fortunately, I did have enough charge remaining to make it to the Whole Foods Market in Fayetteville, AR....that's where I spent way too much time on a Level 2 charger adding enough miles to make it home. But I'm glad there was *any* charging option along the way, or I would have been out of luck!
I realize we're early adopters and a bit of pain is expected at this point. But reliability of charging stations is an absolute must if EV's are going to become more mainstream.

We are planning to make a quick weekend trip to OKC this weekend, so I'm going to give it another try. I should be able to easily make it to Tulsa, charge up, and then finish the drive. Any recommendations for chargers in Tulsa or downtown OKC?

And to avoid completely hijacking this thread....here's another photo of my new Mach-E at the excellent charging station in downtown Durant, OK!

I actually haven't tried any DC Chargers in the Tulsa area since I just charge at home. My first night I had it I used one nearest my house. There is an Electrify America station in Bristow not too far past Tulsa. Might be a good stop if you can get that far to get your free charging.

These Francis chargers are all over the state, and so far, have been way more reliable than Electrify America in my experience. I've only had one charge session end randomly on them. All the rest have worked the first try.

I will say, I discovered some Chargepoint stations that are at some OnCue gas stations around OKC. The one I stopped at had Time Of Day pricing, and after 6:15pm, it was only charging $0.09/kwh. Which is even cheaper than I can charge at home. I added like 45% to my battery for $3.

Someone backed out of a First Edition. The dealership called me. Now she's in my driveway, soaking up that sweet sweet 240 from a ClipperCreek. *chefkiss*

My wife's new Mach-E, side by side with my GT convertible. It's our 6th Mustang we've had between the two of us.

Anyone who thinks the Mach-E isn't a real Mustang needs to drive one. Consider us impressed.
