Charging is one of the big negatives with the MachE. As least perception wise. Nearly all major reviewers make it a point to talk about the abysmal charging curve. Hopefully Ford truly is working on this and an OTA will fix it.

Also I want Netflix. Is that a Milky Way or?

I honestly feel like not enough journalists pay attention to it. What Kyle did is why I like him - these sorts of real world usage, not just getting the car dropped off washed and waxed and fully charged so they can tool around town, get some footage, and then talk with a straight face about "150 kW" charging while recording in Michigan in the middle of winter, etc. etc.

Well then Ford should have told me that, and I'd have just bought a Tesla instead.

Instead they advertised its range and fast charging capability and their "Charging Network" which absolutely yes makes this a road trip vehicle.
You sound very upset with your vehicle, maybe you should just sell it and get the Tesla. I'm sure you could get what you paid for it still...

I don't want a Tesla. I want what Ford promised me.

Suggestions like this are plainly unhelpful, and honestly seem quite hostile. I'm not sure why "like it or leave it" seems to be the attitude here.

I appreciate the posting of live Kyle. Advanced to where he plugged in and waited for the hand shake to complete, where he mentioned that it was slow. After thinking about my experience yesterday, it is possible I was expecting the quick connection I experienced at the other two charging stations I tried and didn't give EA enough time to cycle through all the steps hidden away in the systems to identify the Mach E and resolve the ford pass payment.

The Mustang Mach-E is beautiful and performs strongly across the board in practically every meaningful metric. I cannot wait to get one. I'm just intimidated by some of these DC fast charging challenges.

I think what you, me, and many others are looking for is some sort of acknowledgment by Ford that DCFC is an opportunity for improvement and that owners should look forward to an improved experience soon.

So the question is why the Audi Etron can stay at 150kw/hr and the charging curve for MME is so much more conservative. Is this the Ford engineers gathering data first before loosening up the curve via an over OTA update or will will be stuck with this. That drop at 80% really sucks. On a road trip if you could stay above 50kw/hr to say 90% and then taper off until 100% would be great.
I agree, that would be the way to go. I am hoping for an update to correct this

Just had my first ever DC charge experience, and it was awesome lol

After having an Energi for 5 years and having it take about 2.25 hours to get 23 miles, and then my experience yesterday charging my Mach E at a standard Chargepoint for 5 hours and only going from 20% to 56%, this is a revelation ?

At 50kw I got from 20% to 75% in 62 minutes, before being told by someone that the spot was only for Cruise charging (was wondering why it was free lolol). I knew in my head it was fast, but just seeing it in action really helps alleviate any concern about not being able to home charge ?

Who said they are not working on it. Audi Jaguar all had major problems when they first launched fast charging. Tesla also.
Ford will get it fixed as soon as they can. Dude go eat snickers.

When my sister got her model Y. One of the first shipments it had problems with the handshake.

Dang, that Snickers bar made me hungry.

Its a bit ironic that its no problem while in your garage, charging up to 100% if you want it to, but when you really need that extra juice while traveling, the fast charging system falls on its face at 80%. I can see why that causes a lot of frustration.

To be fair, it doesn't charge faster in your garage above 80% than it does at a DCFC. It's just that the first 80% is equally as slow in your garage.

Right, but the difference is at home, you are at home, but on the road, you want to be on the road, not beside the road, right?

Of course. I'm not saying that DCFC should fall off a cliff at 80%. I'm just saying that saying that we don't have this problem when charging in our garage is a little misleading. It's a completely different animal.

While these charging issues do suck, they don't happen 100% of the time. That's why this is harder to troubleshoot and resolve. If it was something that was happening to every car, every time it would be fixed really quick. But when you have some sessions that work 100% the first try, and then some that won't work at all, its harder to diagnose. It may even be an issue just with certain DCFC brands. Which would explain more why sometimes it works great, and others it craps out immediately.

I imagine this is part of the reason they have been inviting people to join the beta testing for the new software versions. They are hoping for more real-world tests from users all over the country instead of just some employees testing.

I'm still not 100% convinced this is fully on Ford also. My brother has a Chevy Bolt and he seems to have the same success rate at charging at EA as I do with the MME.
