I am not talking about dcFast chargers at home. There is a major difference between an homeowner and a major auto brand such as Ford ... why can't Ford have dcFast chargers at their dealerships rather than sending their customers with their newly delivered Mach-e only at 40% charged?
The dealer should have a L2 charger I believe if they are certified as an EV dealer by Ford, which I think they had to be to sell the Mach-E. If so, they should have used that to charge up.

I think I recall reading on here that Ford issued some bulletin to its dealers that the Mach-E should be charged up to 100% before handing off to the customer.

That shouldn’t be a problem for me, no one drives my car but me lol. My husband occasionally :D

Ya I hope so, I just wish I knew for sure. The dealership was good, but I didn’t get the sense that they would do all that.
Checking and applying outstanding SSMs is section #1 of the dealer instructions for prepping the vehicle for delivery.

Oh cool!

Ya the only reason I was concerned was when I was having a hard time getting control of the car in Ford Pass I called Ford support and they said there was a SSM on my car for a potential modem issue and that I should take it to the dealership to have it applied. So either the dealership didn’t do it, or Fords systems just say what a car needs and doesn’t reflect if it was actually done or not. I’m hoping it’s the latter.

HA HA HA and HA !!!! ... that's the biggest joke I have ever heard on this Forum so far. I have no beef at all with the Mach e which I have rapidly fallen in love with ... BUT the dealership was a joke at best. They could not configure the FordPass because of poor 5G/Wif-Fi environment and after almost two hours I was let go with only about 43% charge. I had to scramble with Electrify America app, which I had downloaded earlier to locate the nearest dcFast charger located at least 20 miles away.

Are you a Ford representative? If so please pass this on .... No pun intended. I got most of my knowledge by watching Out of Spec's by Kyle Connor a youTuber.

I only wish all the dealers followed the checklist. Mine was produced March 4th, the SSM 49730 came out early April and I took delivery April 16th. The dealer should have updated my car with any outstanding updates but didn't and I took my car in a week or so ago to have the SSM 49730 installed which helped with the pairing process of the phone and the car (I think using Car Play after the update had a lot to do with the connection being better really). I wasn't aware then of the SSM 49730 update or I would have asked when I took delivery.

Time to jump on Apple Pay - your iPhone can be both your key fob and your wallet. Now if states start coming up with digital IDs, the wallet may be a thing of the past.
I'll still need my driver's license. I'm not leaving that in the car.

You miss the point of digital ID: you leave the driver's license at home, not in the car.

Also true. Just a little unsettling to think that if my phone gets stolen, my car can be taken too...

Hmm.. suddenly I'm a little less comfortable with Paak

For those of you who are tech savvy: What protocol is PAAK based on? optimized for 5G network,? ...high speed Wi-Fi? on board GPS? or NFC? On my Mercedes, the MercedesMe worked whenever you had either wireless network (4G/5G) or Wi-Fi and the vehicle was able to access GPS. I noticed that since my iPhone 12 upgrade, i.e. on 5G network it became much more responsive and stable.

The dealer should have applied all the outstanding and applicable SSMs and updated the software before delivery. Yours should be up to date.
Not necessarily. Dealers are obligated to perform any outstanding recalls, rapid response bulletins, and field service actions before delivering a new car. But TSBs and SSMs are just instructions to follow if somebody has a specific problem. It would be wise for a dealer to perform all available updates before delivering a new MME, but they're not required to, and I would bet that most dealers don't.
