I also have a charging question for those with a little more knowledge on electrics than me… I’m at an Air BnB. Host says I’m fine to use the wall socket charger to charge up… but no sockets close enough to the car for it to reach the charge port.

Is it safe to run an extension lead or is it likely to overheat?
Be very careful with that as you're talking circa 3kw so your extension lead needs to be good but...

No reason why you can't.

Your lead needs to be rated for a high load.

10amps

If it's on a coil it should be full uncoiled.

When charging check extention the cable doesn't heat up!

You can get decent heavy duty extensions at Screwfix if you need to do it often.

Someone just approved my activation request. I can now see the car is sat on the dockside in Antwerp, with 64% charge ?. I guess I can now reliably track it to the UK. Came in on Grande New Jersey on 10 June.

14 miles on the clock BTW

That's the gold standard of EV extensions according to a Facebook group I'm in!
Excellent. I'll order one when my car arrives.

My Toyota C-HR has exactly the same system, when you get used to it (doesn't take long) you'll wonder how you ever coped without it. It turns a long journey from a chore to pleasureable!
So true. The journey today was such a pleasure.

Stuffy git! I’ve sent numerous activation requests and all of them bar one timed out - the other one said that the request was rejected! ?

We’ve noticed that if you leave it too long to pull out when passing a parked and you have adaptive cruise control on that the MME will brake for you, giving you time to pull a little further out.

I decided to test this and drove directly at a parked car at 30mph with my foot nervously hovering over the brake pedal. I’m happy to report that the MME comes to a complete, thoroughly undramatic stop.

I probably should have told the Mrs what I was planning, though.
