DM'd Ford and they created a ticket with their escalated SUV support team today so hopefully they can help move this along. ?

Still no update on my MME from the dealer, but for the other MME that was in the shop at the same time, it seems that 2 battery cells were replaced due to a rupture in the outer shell. ? Hoping it's not systemic or due to the Texas heat...

The good: The car self-identified an issue before it became something serious.
The bad: Sound likes the manufacturing facility had an issue, and you are without your vehicle for a substantial time :(

Yeah ditto ... I came from a Lincoln and an Infiniti prior to that so that's what I was used to as well from a service perspective. Was pretty surprised Ford wasn't following the same approach, but I guess that's because it's not their luxury brand. ?
I used to always have my Fords serviced at the local Lincoln-Mercury dealer. The service was the best - loaner if I wanted it or a ride to / from wherever I needed to be. When I got the vehicle back, it was always cleaned inside and out. Many years ago, the Ford and Lincoln dealerships consolidated. They're still pretty good, but they no longer wash the car when servicing - I miss that.

Latest update: Thanks to @Ford Motor Company, Ford support called me today for the first time. Apparently they usually have a 1 day SLA, but it took longer as they're pretty backlogged at the moment. They tried to get in touch with the dealership to chat about getting a loaner, but apparently weren't able to get a hold of them. I did at least manage to confirm with Ford support that they cover $35 a day for 10 days, and that technically that amount of time can be extended with special approvals towards the end of that period. They mentioned they will try to get back in touch with the dealership and still get back to me Wednesday/Thursday as they're short on staff during the holidays.

Considering I'm at 13 days now and still no root cause our ETA for fix, that 4-6 weeks is sounding more realistic unfortunately. ?

I don't mean any offense but expecting or even asking for an MME loaner is kind of an outlandish thing to do considering you have to wait months to get one that you've ordered. No dealership will have an MME sitting around for a loaner let alone multiple for people to drive around.

That said it's pretty shoddy they don't have any car on the lot that you can use for a long term repair like that.

There are a lot of dealers who don’t have loaners due to insurance liability. Those dealers rely on rentals to satisfy the various warranty obligations.

I guess that makes sense especially now in such a shortage to rely on rental company fleets. But they should have given him the option for that and cover some of the cost since it's crazy expensive right now.

Yup, and not having loaners still stinks even if it’s understandable.

Yep, realistically not expecting any MME loaner but at least was expecting not having to pay out of pocket for any warranty loaner. If it weren't for my wife and I still being able to work remote right now thanks to COVID-19, it'd have been pretty sucky to have to pay for a loaner during this whole time to be able to commute to work...

Luckily at least we still have 1 car that works.

I'm really sorry this is happening to you. I hope this gets resolved sooner rather than later. Please keeps us updated.

Where in Texas are you located? I'm in the DFW area. If you're also in this area, what dealership are you using?

Thanks fmtexmme! I'm in the DFW area as well, actually over in The Colony. Glad to see another DFWer on here ?

I originally bought my MME from Five Star Ford of Dallas, but when the car died on me I just had it towed to the nearest dealership which was AutoNation Ford Frisco. Part of me is wondering if I should have just gotten it towed to Five Star instead at this point as they seem to have more pull with Ford...

I'm really curious about who the other MME owner was that was being serviced at AutoNation that had the bad battery cells and how their situation was, and if they're a member of this forum too. Based on the symptoms so far, it's sounding veeeery similar.

Yeah I hear ya, I've been going back and forth on when to sell my Fusion but with no build date or anything I'm still holding off. I work from home too and can share a car with my wife, but that still wouldn't make it 'easy' to not have a car. I want to try and private sell it before getting the mach e but we'll see what happens.

Yeah we ended up holding off on selling our Hyundai until we got the MME. Used Carvana which was a simple process, and got a great deal with it as apparently used cars are in demand!

Ohhh no, I'm 99 percent sure you were the first MME I saw 'in the wild' last month. Silver MME with that same plate frame. This thread makes me sad.
