Congrats on delivery! For what it’s worth, I asked Mike Levine when we can expect to see reviews of the GTs and got “a little while longer…” Given they’re being delivered now, I can’t imagine it’s that much longer!

I’ll take that to mean a few more weeks, not months.

I don't understand the mentality behind this, thinking about it now I wonder if this kind of pisses off reviewers that need this for a living. Anyone getting a GT right now could start to undercut them and taking views, albeit most people would still watch the professional reviews too.

Delivered late afternoon today... Mustang Mach-E GT Performance Edition, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

It came two weeks earlier than expected!

Some commentary after a day of work, few pics, and letting a few friends drive:

• The dark grey color is lighter in the pictures than seeing in person, so I think it does look cooler in person.
• I've let a couple other EV techies drive it today and they are exhilarated
• Intense laughter when stomping on the go pedal
• "Feel it in the gut."
• Like a roller coaster and space shot
• Tight control - great stability
• Steering wheel feels fantastic, for a race car.
• 15 minutes later: I can still feel that power in my gut!
• Heavy sense of regeneration, ie. let go of pedal and can definitely feel it actively slowing down, not coasting. (probably not specific to the GT PE)
• I have to adjust power response expectations in traffic - such as goosing it to pass - need to ensure I've already changed lanes before goosing it, otherwise intense acceleration sneaks up too fast to car in front.

It’s here - the moment I regret cancelling the GTPE and going for the Etron.

The only logical reason for this is that they are **so tight** on production that they are prioritizing units for customers over reviewers. They can probably get away with this because they don’t need reviews to hype up demand right now, they’ve got plenty of demand without chips to supply.

No idea if that’s the thought logic internally at Ford, but that’d be my argument if I was on the inside.

Another possibility - and this is pure spitballing - is that dealerships were not supposed to have allowed customers to take deliveries of GTs quite yet. Perhaps normally they'd not have delivered them to dealerships to begin with, but since logistics is hell right now, the luxury of waiting may not be there.

They did say late summer to early fall. You have to wonder, would they really have given them the "Ok to buy" a month ago when the first ones likely would have been hitting the lots if it weren't for the semiconductor shortage?

I'm thinking that the press might be getting their first GT drives this weekend at Dream Cruise. We know Electrek was invited from that article posted earlier about the OPs car. Could it be that there is no media embargo, it's just that they haven't even had the car in their hands yet?

Wow, is the only thing that comes to mind. What is the "material" part of the seat?

Did they put any of the ultra-suede on the steering wheel? In the picture, it looks like it's all fake leather, not fake suede. I am hoping this is true.
