Gonna get fun in here if another GTPE goes to the strip and it's still not much over 100mph! Haha. Generally though I somehow figure that Ford was planning/trying to beat Y Performances with this thing on some variety of track...just not sure what efforts they put into getting drag time optimized? Will be interesting to hear what they tell the media if they tend to suspect it's not quite keeping up with a Y Performance at the drag strip as I suspect they know already whether it should or not.

Seems hard to believe that Ford would ignore drag race performance on something called a Mustang. Even my GT350 (very much a road course car and not optimized for drag racing) has a "drag race" drive mode.

I think it's like this because EVs aren't quite like fuel powered beasts. There are just less variables in the engineering and science at play that can't be kept super consistent...so normally cars like this or the Tesla won't see as much variation from car to car or run to run as what one might expect from gas cars where stuff like the fuel used and funny mechanical variations with engine and transmission and emission system confusions and all the rest can make for a lot of things messing and making even run to run seem like totally different thing going down. Not to mention RWD and traction/tires being a deal on a lot of gas cars we check 1/4 times on.

If it really is a 100mph trap region it's a bit of a bummer in a lot of ways being that it's a GT and generally a lot of us feeling they would do more between pedestrian and GT than Tesla had done between LR and Performance with software upgrades that can get your LR real close to a Performance. Not to mention the power numbers suggest it's got a way to post a good bit better traps. But those don't come with curves to really know.

Not the biggest deal, but I would feel more confident if he got the name of the color correct. Odds are Ford is just stealth nannying these things until they know what they have. They have been in full crisis prevention mode this entire Mach E enterprise.
