Just plugged in, just like I did on Earth day and it was free then. Should have turned off plug and charge.

I have plug and charge ensbled. Used it 1 week ago. Screen on charger said to just plug in and go. I did snd it was free

If you want free EA charging you may need to initiate the charging session with the EA app.

I used EA over the July 4 holiday. I wasn't aware of the EA complimentary charge offer, so I tried to initiate with FordPass. I kept getting an error, so I call EA. After explaining my situation, the lady told me that the error was because I was trying to use my Ford credits and the charger couldn't handle it because it was already free. She told me to simply plug & charge, which I did and it worked perfectly.

Bottom line - I couldn't use my Ford credits, even though I tried! Maybe it's changed now.

Actually according to EA you do not even need the app on free/promo periods. Just log out of FordPass before plugging in to charge. You know, log out of the thing that controls every function of your vehicle. ?

There is a switch in the app to turn off Plug and Charge. Do it now, and then put a note in your reminders to turn it back on Tuesday morning. #FirstWorldProblems

I’ll try that this weekend. And I’ll also try a different charger to see if I can do better than 34kW. The one I plugged into was 350kW, but there are also some 150kW at the same station.

We hit around ten EA stations in our 1,200 trip last weekend. Many issues -the 34kw charging we experienced on our first stop was on TWO different 350s. No problem on 150. On our last stop, we had slow charging at two different 350s again, and no problem at 150.

Since the Mach-E can't go higher than 150 (we've never seen more than 126kw), I confirmed with EA that a 350 is zero difference from a 150 for us at this time (always possible our capability gets upgraded by Ford at some point). Therefore, we plan to hit 150s exclusively going forward, if nothing else it may save time on failed attempts, especially now that we're paying for charging having used all the free hours. Some states charge based on KW used, some on minutes. A slow charger in a state that charges by minutes wouldn't be ideal. EA's site shows you which states have that method of fee.

I have had better luck using the 150KW chargers at EA stations.

Plug and Charge - Always Off
Charged at EA today from 50% to 80% in 17 minutes on a 150kw.
No credit deducted from my Ford credits.

Got my free charge in today!! 59kwh in 37min I’m pretty sure is a record for me lol. Actually ended up going to almost 82%. A ID.4 pulled up and started to talk. Then a Chevy Bolt pulled up to charge, I quickly left after that lol

Plug n charge off and all I had to do was plug in. The ID.4 and the bolt also just plugged in without having to mess with the app.

I have P&C turned on and had no issue with getting free electrons. Just plugged in and it showed that the session would be free. When I was done it reported a $0 charge and my complimentary balance was unaffected.

Not sure what time your sailing trip is scheduled for but if you anchor off of Jacobs Park (near the Embarcadero and Coronado bridge) you will be able to catch the San Diego Symphony Orchestra perform the score to “The Goonies” along with the movie at the new Rady Shell at 7:30. Did this for Star Wars and it was amazing.
