Alright so now that I've had time to calm down a bit, what's everyone's general sentiments currently? Assuming Ford's lack of even a "We're aware. Fix incoming." PR hail mary means this is indeed an engineering issue, I'm curious what options people are considering. I'm certainly not keeping my GT order if this is real, but what are you all thinking?

Keeping the GT orders? (still the most attractive EV under 100k imo)

Buy a premium? Still looks good and 48K (or less) after tax credits. And will apparently walk a GT in a roll.

Kia/Hyundai?

Genesis?

Audi A6/Q6? Q4?

Lyriq?

Wait on the Camaro sedan?

Wait on Honda/Toyota?

Anything else?

Well my secondary option was to order a Volvo V60 Polestar..... might default back to that one.

I still think there's something up if the regular AWD can have a higher trap speed though, that doesn't make any sense. They couldn't have engineered the GT to be faster 0-60 and then slower after 60. It must be a software thing, otherwise my mind will be boggled why they'd make the GT slower than an AWD.

Also makes me happy mine won't be delivered until end of November.

I have my eye on the Q4. Very different from the GT, but looks a nice car.

Audi says it's coming to the US before year end, but I have no confidence that's true.

I really think it is too early to tell. If there are more data to suggest there is a problem—other owners or media—then there is a problem. Until that time, I think a wait and see approach. For a lot of us who have a GT or GTPE on order, we have the time to see more numbers. At this point, I’d hesitate to jump to a conclusion.

Here is a thought... Is the ~75mph falling flat related to speed, or time at full throttle? If you are rolling down the interstate on cruise at 75, and nail it, is the performance any different (better) than if you are accelerating through that 75 barrier from a standing start? If its related to power flow or battery/heat management, it might be that the car can accelerate hard at higher speeds for a period of time.

If its the second thing, would be more acceptable. I am not going to run the 1/4 on the street, and likely would never go to track. Maybe it can just do full throttle for like 6 or so seconds before it pulls power.... Would be interesting. Meaning if from an easy roll it could go 75 to 100 fast, it would be not bad for a fast commuter car.
I'm with you on this point. My car (fully loaded GTPE) will never see the track. I just wanted a badass daily driver.

There's a problem. Even if it's just two cars out of the 200 (or whatever) that have been delivered so far, it's still a problem.

The radio silence actually gives me a slight amount of hope, maybe trying to get a fix tested enough to release it so reviewers can test the fixed cars and it'll roll out to owners at the same time.

We only ordered the GT because my wife was set on the Cyber Orange color and how it looked. Performance wise she was happy with the Select AWD we test drove, so it shouldn't be a concern. From what we have seen it will still be a beast around town and still has enough power to be safe and capable at highway speeds.

This is a good question. I’m not going to race this car, but I’d like to know that if I need to punch it when I’m at highway speeds, it’s going to respond immediately. I ordered the GTPE for exactly the reasons the previous poster mentioned, namely the Magneride option and the tires/wheels. The difference between 3.5 and 3.8 is not a big deal for me, as much as I’ve been whining about that number on this thread.

I’d prefer a manufacturer understates performance and I’m pleasantly surprised when it exceeds expectations, rather than what we are seeing here. I’d love to be the proverbial fly on the wall over at Ford right now. They must be at least at DEFCON 2 right now. If the reviews come back with similar numbers (which seems sort of likely), it will be a PR disaster.
Without a dragy, I can safely predict any future 1/4 mile runs will look just like the graphs from the OP or the one Frankie posted yesterday. That said, if you're rolling at 70 and punch it, it will still put your head back and you'll be around whoever you need to pass quickly. That said, they're doing something to pull power at the top end like it's hitting a wall. The question is what and will they make any adjustments based on these 1/4 mile trap speeds.

This thread is so depressing. I was going to put in for the GT next week, but no more unless we quickly get word that this is some kind of anomaly, defect, or OTA hardware nanny. Otherwise, I think I'll just get the Tesla Plaid. Yes, I realize it's not exactly in the same kind of segment but it is the fastest car in the world and a relative bargain compared to the Audi, Porsche, and Mercedes alternatives.

At 50mph though? That would be pretty drastic.
This could be what some manufacturers call "limp mode"...? If your car or truck is pushed beyond the programmed perimeters, the ECU will put you in limp mode and reduce your top speed to 45 mph in some cases. I don't know about the Mach E, but some vehicles to have this feature.
This is where ECU turning becomes an important tool. But check your warranty first!

Kind of hard to compare any Tesla to any Porsche, Audi, or Mercedes. OK it does 0-60 in 2 seconds, but literally everything else about the Tesla is worse than the cars from those other three manufacturers.

That's like me saying my Ford Fusion (and I love my Fusion) is a bargain compared to a Volvo.

YouTube algorithm brought me a dealer walk around of a GT and GTPE, at end of video mentions there were some new issues brought to his attention that make it hard to review the GT. Maybe an ultimatum from the ministry of information?
Haha what a telling line near the end. Guy was watching what he says for sure. At least he confirmed the obvious that Ford knows this is a thing, and kinda validates why we have seen no professional reviews. Great find.
