The release notes say that AppLink will no longer be required to record Journeys, which is good because AppLink doesn't work if you use CarPlay. But the only options I see for Journey Recording are still just Automatically via AppLink or OFF.

Yea - I think they actually changed this a little bit ago, because I use CarPlay exclusively and have had Journeys recorded most of the time recently.

Just checked and the scheduler for SecuriAlert is now giving me errors again... Don't know if it's from the update or just totally broken. If it wasn't needed to run Paak there would be no value in the app for me..

They may have changed the name to “Frunk”, but I will continue to call it a “front trunk”. “Frunk” sounds stupid (and too close to “drunk” ?)

my journey and securialert seem to be pretty pointless

That comes with an update in the car, not the app. And they've changed the button to Frunk instead of Front Trunk.

It's not OTA yet, but will be (eventually). But the button doesn't actually work yet, so it's not worth a trip to the dealer just for that.

if you care about hypermiling type stuff, wanting to be told if you're driving efficiently, it will tell you that kind of data.

Not really. The term frunk has been used for decades. Think VW Beetles & midengine cars, among others.
