I am new to the forum and have enjoyed reading the various feedback and thoughts on the new Mach E. I am even more excited that I was able to reserve a First Edition on the day of the unveiling!!!! I reserved the red although I am starting to lean towards the white one.

They cannot legally do that. People will be people and car salespeople are no different. Those same folks, I imagine (as a prior used car salesman myself,) were attempting to get you to buy some other vehicle NOW. The MSRP is what any 'new' vehicle HAS to sell at. Used vehicles are a different story. But for a new vehicle, they can either sell at MSRP or they can sell under that. Never above it.

It's just a Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price. The dealer can and does sell new cars for more if they are hot selling models or limited number. If the MachE comes with some direction from Ford that they strongly suggest not going higher and the dealer still does, this is completely legal. Caveat is that dealer may not get anymore allocations of said hit selling vehicles.

I went on the Ford site to refresh my memory on the available colors for the First Edition. What I noticed and someone please check me on this is that there is NO LONGER selection to reserve the GT. Does that also mean that for now reservations are sold out for the GT trim?

That would be my impression that the GT model has been sold out on the 1st year release. Ford knows they can only make so many a year which means if people were to keep on reserving them they would have to wait at least until the 2nd or 3rd year to get them.

Edit you are correct the GT model is no more. So guess they sold the quota for the GT models. Who knows in like a year or 2 their might be the Shelby version or MAch 1 be available lol.

This also goes to show that it may be more challenging to change trim level, than originally expected, when the configuration tool launches in 2020

Luckily, I am happy I reserved the First Edition because I wanted to make sure I get into a Mach E as soon as it becomes available.

I am glad they sent most of the 1st editions to Europe. Reason being is because if tax credit still good next year those 30k vehicles do not count toward Tax credit. So I think they did that not only for Emissions sake, but also to benefit the local consumers with the tax benefit rollout a bit longer.

I ordered the First Edition in Grabber Blue 5 minutes after watching the video from Ford. I live in Cali north of LA. Prior to ordering I checked out the map of charging just in case I want a quick charge. From Bakersfield to LA there is one Tesla charging station that can charge roughly 20 cars. It is located 99 miles form LA. Ford stations are about 20 all along the route. Sure they may only have 2-4 charging stations but there are so many that it is irrelevant. I thought about the Tesla 3 but my problem is the company is small and Musk has a really bad habit of lying. Case in point for years he advertised the 3 series at 40,000. The truth is it could about 3 years to actually get one. Now it is down to 8 weeks. however if you buy the $60,000 series 3 you can get it in 24 hours. I Love Ford and I sat in this car at the LA auto show and it is amazing.
