Hi everyone. Just curious if anyone has tried tailgating, drive-in-movies, or modest camping w/ their MME? Does the car shut off power like always, or can we tap into the batteries and keep things like radio & lights going well after our ICE cars force you to turn off?

Here I thought he wanted to know how to follow on someones a$$ down the freeway. I was gonna be quick to chime in "from an expert standpoint".

But in all seriousness I was working on the car over the weekend, turned it on and I would guess maybe 10 minutes later it shut down, just like an ICE vehicle would. Mind you that wasn't in "Ignition on" it was just the "full accessory power" mode.

I have done a little 180+ drafting too. ?

Of course, as a dog I have alsodone my share of zero mph tailgating too. Sniff-sniff. ?

Why not just leave the car running, so you can have heat or ac as well :).

Yeah, if you’re not driving, you’re not using that much more juice than being on accessory mode. Just turn off the 30 minute auto-off timer and calm the screen, and you can camp all night with a modest loss in power. If you don’t have an issue with her, Shannon over on the EV and Chill channel on YouTube did a simulated camping overnight in her Mach-E with a standard range battery, and I think she lost maybe 10% or something with full climate control. Worth the watch if this is your interest.

Plus, the drain in the trunk is worth keeping your beer and shrimp cold over ice because drainage and clean-up is a cinch.

I saw a pic that Ford had with shrimp on ice, and my first thought was that the frunk would then smell like shrimp forever.

If you rent an RV camping spot with power hookups and plug your mobile charger in overnight you can keep the car in accessory mode all night. Gives you infotainment screen and climate controls.

Otherwise to use climate you need the car fully on and it tries to turn the car off every 30 minutes if sitting while in Park

Unless you turn that off like she did in the video above and it ran all night (the 30 minute auto shutoff).

Shrimp: Bleech! (I'm deathly allergic to crustaceans).

Beer: Yay! (Dogs like beer!) ?

Take ours camping. We just leave the phone and keys locked in the car and use the keypad to aviod the auto locking. Did a few drive in nights. We Just manually turn the headlamps off an leave the car running.
