PaaK made me look like an ass

Just curious cause I've been doing some investigating, how many of those who are having PAAK issues are on iPhones with Apple Watch and/or AirPods? I think there's some bluetooth connection issues in the way the iPhone handles connections that aren't first-party like apple accessories.

That could be. But I have a Note 20 Ultra and a Galaxy Watch 4 with no issues. No ear pods though.

I agree the PAAK can be problematic sometimes. - On a date when the door doesn't open without an eternity of fumbling around or the time a sketchy looking guy was fast approaching and no matter what I did I couldn't get the Mach-E door to open. I hope PAAK is fixed before something worse than an ill-timed horn honk happens.

Yeah PAAK works well most of the time for me as well, but I did end up having issues when I've got my AirPods connected and it's playing from my Watch and not my phone. I've started taking our AirPods and putting them in a case before accessing car and that seems to have made things better. I sometimes get No Key detected if my wife is in the car with her phone too which also has PAAK enabled, I think this is very much a bluetooth connection issue that needs to be figured out. I really wish this was all over Ultra Wideband so it could work with Apple's CarKey implementation... sigh. oh well.

I have a Samsung S21 and it is totally hit or miss if it will work with my phone. Completely unreliable I am always afraid to show my friends without opening the app up and walking up to the car and chatting with them for a few seconds waiting for it to connect. I shouldn't have to do all that. I love the car but really hate that integration.

I also wanted to mention that a friend of mine works for Micron and she said that probably the main reason for one fob was also due to the chip shortage. Take that for what you will.

Turn off audible confirmations. That will kill the honk.

I don't have my car yet but I've read enough at this point to not even bother setting up PAAK. I've also read that it appears that the GTs are shipping with two FOBs.

Seems like this is a feature Ford wanted to have to ensure it compared well on paper with the Model Y that was in no way ready for prime time.

when I get my car I will probably try PAAk but will not be thrilled if I have any issues and will have FOB for backup.

for those of you that share the one FOB, not sure why that is acceptable Or desirable. My wife and I always have separate keys as they are set differently. Different radio stations , and many other settings. Doesn’t make sense to want to share a key especially in an EV or any modern car which the potential for customized settings.

For me and my Wife that was totally unacceptable!! I pushed hard to get another FOB and finally got our dealer to pay for it!

Do you leave the FordPass app open in your phone when using PAAK?

Every time I close the app (habit) an alert pops up that says “PAAK works better if you leave the app open.”

Yes, you need to leave FordPass running in the background.

I’m wondering why Tesla doesn’t have these same issues, it’s using Bluetooth too and all the issues I’ve seen with Ford all seem to be Bluetooth related and caused by limitations imposed by phone manufacturers.

I‘ve never owned a Tesla and PaaK works great for me with the MME so I guess I can’t answer that.

It works mostly fine for me as well, only issue is when my wife has her phone as key in car at same time, it’s like it briefly decides which one to use for a few seconds at startup then it’s fine again.
