And here we go again, second time in two weeks. One more strike and it's a lemon. I have to wait two hours for AAA - Ford Roadside service is incompetent and can't find wheel lift/dolly service. I barely managed to get back out of an intersection, stopped at a stop sign on a busy back road.
Hi there! This definitely doesn’t sound like the experience we want you to be having with your Mach-E. Please send us a message with your VIN and approximate mileage. I’d be happy to look into this for you. Thanks!

I had the same TSBs applied to my car on Nov 1. System failed again today. The PaaK does work better, but that's of little consolation when the car dies on the road.

I reported this via the NTHSA link above.

I suspect that you have weak or dying 12v battery as this happened to me early on as was fixed by simply replacing thhe 12v. No telling how long these batteries sat before installation and after in shipping sitting somewhere losing their charge.

Why are you certain that it was up to date before going to the dealer? PM me your VIN I want to look at the codes and updates available…

Keep in mind that just because it hasn’t come through over the air doesn’t mean updates aren’t available. Actually several MMEs have 13+ available updates that have not come through over the air.
Is there a place where those can be seen? I would really like to take a look to mines ?

The latest: Ford thinks the rear motor and "other parts" need replacement. The dealer was unable to get the car into a service bay on Monday since it is now very dead on their doorstep. I think they had to somehow get it onto a dolly and roll it in.

Waiting to see how long this debacle will take - and whether I would have any confidence in this car going forward.

About 2 weeks ago I was pulling out of a Walmart parking spot. I put the car in D and slowly started moving forward. The car suddenly gave me the Park Brake Engaged warning on the instrument cluster and the car suddenly stopped. Then as quick as it happened, it released. No faults were observed. I was going maybe 1 to 2 mph when it happened. I also use 1pd all the time.

No, I didn’t pull the park brake switch.
This happens to me all the time actually. The dealer is clueless. I'll start my car, put it in reverse, start rolling, then suddenly and violently, the parking brake cuts on and brings me to a sudden stop, then automatically releases and runs normally. Was there ever a resolution to this? It happens to me just about every 3rd time I drive my car.

I've only had my car do this once for no reason in my drive way. I do have it frequently do it though when I start to get towards the street when backing out. I live on a very busy street so there is always cross traffic. I would say 2 times a week it will slam on the brakes a good 10 feet away from the street indicating cross traffic. Oddly the car can't see the traffic coming due to a blind spot, so I'm assuming its freaking out about a car being directly behind me that pops out of no where as far as the car is concerned. Rest of the week it will act normal.

Every single morning I'm backing up listening to DING DING DING DING DING DING DING DING DING DING DING... Sometimes I'll sit there for 5 minutes waiting to get out, the alert makes me want to kill kittens sometimes.. It is way too early in the morning for that!! ?

Is your driveway steep? I have a steep driveway and when I get to the bottom it fools the sensors into thinking an obstruction is behind me. It only happens if I approach the bottom fast.

I took the car in and told the dealer about it. They said they updated the GSM, gear shift module. I haven’t had it happen since but it’s only been 3 weeks since they updated. Mine doesn’t do it very frequently and its always been when in drive, never in reverse.

I would think if it does it in reverse, it would be the cross traffic sensors. Does it give a warning on the dash? Mine gives a gray(not orange or red) box that says Parking brake engaged. Then it releases on its own almost immediately.

I pulled the speaker underneath the car and did the resistor mod. I got sick of the garbage truck sound. I just did this a couple weeks ago. No issues since I did it, with me or the car. Kittens are safe here.

I turned OFF the auto-braking .... I had the sensors get fooled several times when backing down a steep driveway; sensor saw the street as an obstacle, slammed on the brakes, and would not let me back up!

I used to go through all the driver assist menus to turn off the rear sensors as I have such a steep drive I could not back out. However at some point a button appeared on the reversing camera window which allows me to turn off the reversing sensors as I back out. I can then turn them on again and then go into "Drive". It has made life easier.
