My July Build with active Bluecruise compared with another on a local dealer lot that just got delivered this week with Bluecruise. $400 on the sticker. If mine was red rather than Star White it would have bee $600 more. Base cost $49,700 (July build ) vs $50,300 for (August build).

Considering how much more expensive steel and aluminum is today compared to 12 months ago, I'm surprised it's not higher.

Inflation is like 6% or so right now. It costs 10x or more to ship a 40' container from Asia to the USA. It was about $1200 or so in January 2020 but prices have sky rocketed. That's a big driver of inflation.

Isn't this related to the $600 VIN specific discount we've seen on some cars on dealership websites. I always thought it was the $600 BC 3 yr subscription built in

Weird... when Tesla raises prices dozens of times before, during and after ordering, while in delivery, in the delivery precheck stage, before and after Elon changes pants etc., everyone just says "Yay! Tesl!"
But Ford does it and it's a "secret and clandestine operation to screw people."

Odd, snap reaction with huge inflation with everything, everywhere... maybe Ford should just give 'em away once we all get a Universal Basic Income from the Chinese-Buying-Our-Debt-Money-Tree!

Again, it wasn’t a price raise.

It was just them charging for blue cruise because it came standard vs charging for it later.

A price raise is charging more for the same thing. This was just making more stuff “standard.”

But the white one came with fully functional blue cruise. It’s even shown on the Window sticker. Not prep, but equipped with full blue cruise. Maybe it was free for July builds…..and they caught up for later ones.

I’ll try this again.

The $600 is for activating Bluecruise.

The cars may come with the capability, but it costs $600 to activate it for 3 years (subscription).

Earlier this year it was something they made “standard” and raised the prices by $600. It wasn’t a secret. Ford told us about the $600.

Here is another article if it helps:

https://www.autonews.com/mobility-report/fords-bluecruise-hands-free-system-cost-600-3-years

“Ford said Wednesday that BlueCruise software, activated through an over-the-air-update, will cost $600 for a three-year subscription, on top of the price of the hardware that varies by vehicle.”

And here it is from Ford.com-
https://media.ford.com/content/ford...road-trips-bluecruise-hands-free-driving.html

“For Mustang Mach-E, BlueCruise comes standard on CA Route 1, Premium and First Edition variants. It’s an available package on the Select trim for $3,200 – $ 600 for the software and $2,600 for the rest of the package – as part of the larger Comfort and Technology package, which includes features such as a 360-degree camera, heated front seats and heated steering wheel.
