OTA 1.7.1 Stuck, anyone else have issue updating?

OK have read all 22 pages of this thread.

My 1.7.1 update seems to be flipping back and forth. Some days the SYNC version is --, and some days it is the original product and version number. The auto update has been off, then back on, and now back off again. I have never received any notice about the update on my FP app on my phone. But the software update screen says I have 1.7.1 since early November.

I notice that the Ford Motor Company account is asking for a VIN & mileage with a PM, and I am glad to do that.

My question is: How do you send a PM on this system???? Sorry in advance if I am being an idiot and it is right in front of me.....

So last week I got 1.4 and 1.6 and the version reflected on the screen under system updates until today, it now just says System Up To Date like it did when I bought it. Is this part of the 1.7.1 install process?

It appears that I’m in the same state as (I believe) some others are in: after the 1.7.1 failed, the automatic and scheduled update options csn not longer be enabled… so it seems unlikely that the car will be even attempting an OTA update again.

On the row with the lightening bolt for What's New", scroll over and select members. On the left, type in Ford motor company under name of member, then select start conversation. I believe that would be a private message.

Adding my MME to the list - same issues - and still unresolved. Received my "Oops" message on 11/24. Build date of January, 2021.
- Says its on 1.7.1, but no new features
- Automatic updates turned off and can't toggle back on

My build date was early February, 2021. It does seem to only affect some cars; I am not sure of the pattern.

Mine is also February 2021.

Go through this thread a few pages back and click on Ford in a post where they replied. Then, click on start conversation in the bottom right corner.

The only way to see, is to know what the OTA actually updated, and check the module software on it. This particular OTA updated the APIM. 1.7.1 isn't a version of any software on the car at all. Just a name of the OTA make it easier to keep track of what it updated.

This is why you have seen people get 1.6, and then get 1.4. They aren't sequential updates. They are just update deployments that are independent of each other. Its definitely a confusing way to do it, and not being able to see an actual version in the car to verify doesn't help.

I just checked mine shows no version or revision number just 2 -- next to them. I been stuck on 1.7.1 for over 5 weeks now. It says I have 1.7.1 but show none of the features. I messaged Ford yesterday didnt hear back yet.

BTW: My build date was Feb 15th, 2021. Shipped on Feb 26th, if I remember correctly. Purchased March 30th.

New symptom, have no idea if it is related or not:

In Android Auto, sometimes when I say Hey Google, it will not respond. If I press the microphone on the screen, it will accept the verbal command. Completely random when this doesn't work....

Yesterday, I was able to turn on reset the schedule for OTA updates. Today it is turned off and the schedule was deleted. SYNC Version is back to --

I don't really mind being a beta tester, as long as I know it will be fixed...... But part of that is being kept in the loop as to what is going on. This is where Ford is failing.

My car was built 3/2021. I have received 3 OTA updates, a "bug fix" soon after buying the car, followed by Powerup 1.4 and 1.6. All went with no issues. I then brought the car to the dealer to perform the PaaK update, along with DSP and the loud fan while charging update.

What is strange to me is that when I pressed update on the second 1.7.1 install attempt, it downloaded "stuff" over a 2 day period, first was ~2GB, and then ~2.5GB the next day. The first time it failed, it downloaded almost 5GB in one go. From the other 1.7.1 thread, IIRC it should be nearly 8GB.

It seems everyone with the failed 1.7.1 has the Chinese character in place of the TM, and gets cutoff at "yo". I'm curious to know if the update notes get straightened out if/when 1.7.1 does get installed successfully. And how about those who got it installed successfully the first time, were the update notes also messed up?

You're updated from the factory at a newer version.

This is the version that cars are coming with that is about a week newer than the version in 1.7.1.

This is the original version from the factory on early cars. You have not gotten a sync update yet.

That is the version my FE had from the factory.
