That phone number in the first post was a waste of time. No one ever returned my call.

So....not sure if this helps anyone (or if it evened helped me lol). Yesterday afternoon I called the number floating around online. A nice lady (Samantha I think) answered on the second ring (Answered with "Ford Promotions"). I explained I have an order in for a premium and I'd like to switch the order to a FE. I told her I had tried at my local dealer but had no luck. First thing she asked was how did I "hear" about the FE? When I said the #MachDrop promotion, she breathed a sigh of relief. She wanted to make sure I wasn't just calling out of the blue, and that I got the information from the promotion. She added that the reason why the dealer didn't know about any extra allocations was because this was a Ford Promotion, separate from the dealers. She asked me what color I wanted (I'm going with the Carbonized Grey). She then looked my dealer up on her system and asked who my point of contact was. She said the next thing that would happen is SHE would reach out to that POC and tell him that I've now placed a reservation for a FE, and that he needed to reach out to me to get further information. The dealer will then submit a buy order back to her (Ford), which will solidify the order. She also noted that after that, I should cancel my Premium order with that dealer, as I'll be getting the FE. I can't remember the context, but she said that Ford figured out that 95% of the people calling in were current reservation holders, and that if Ford didn't allow people to have their deposits back, they weren't going to sell any cars (again, sorry....I can't remember what we were talking about at that time). I did ask if these FEs were going to be delivered before the end of the year, and she said they are currently on track to be delivered by the end of December (she probably doesn't know). So, now I wait for my dealer to get in touch with me. She told me to give it a couple of days, then reach out to him if he doesn't contact me first. Overall, it was a great experience. She was super friendly and helpful. I think if I didn't mention "Twitter" or "#MachDrop", she would have hung up on me though. I'll post an update once (if) I hear back from my dealer. If not...hey, I'll still be the proud owner of a Premium FE.

Glad to hear this. Presumably not what they were expecting. Very shortsighted of them not to figure that out beforehand.

Hopefully they learned something from this botched experience. The whole "online reservations" thing is new to them. They seem to have forgotten that reservation priority is supposed to mean something, and that they should have been offered to those loyal and patient customers first.

If the reports of OKTB (OK to buy) being Nov 23 are correct, and vehicles not even being allowed to leave the plant until OKTB is given, and there's 3-4 weeks for transport, then late Dec for the first batches arriving sounds correct.

I'm almost starting to hope I don't get picked for an FE now (supposedly I'm on some waiting list). My main reason for trying to upgrade was to get it in 2020 where I'd get an extra $1500 tax credit that would offset the $1600 higher FE price. If I can't get it in 2020, I'd rather just stick with my Premium order. And I'm starting to question whether all the FEs would make it for sure in 2020. Late Dec is cutting it pretty close. And that may just be for the earliest ones. I could easily see a bunch trickling in just after the first of the year (especially since it's the holiday season).

You don't have to switch your standing order. This promo is off the record for other orders and it seems you do have to call in. Not sure how long they will let people do this, but I did tell them I had left messages earlier. the key is the instagram promo mention. There is no actual fixed limit on these as of today, just the calls in I guess by a certain time get built. They contact your dealer to follow up and place the order. They only asked the color choice of 3. Dealer should be able to choose some of the other options for FE orders as normal. We'll see how that goes. Oh and December was still the guess at delivery as well if that holds.

Hey everyone, be very careful with social media announced promotions. It is very easy for anyone to open a Twitter or other social media account with a name that sounds official and use it to mine data. If nothing else, avoid providing your credit card or other payment information to anyone other than directly to Ford. Don’t get scammed!

It isn't a scam. My dealer is ordering this for me as I type this. Ford is just playing woth social media to see what it can do. We'll see. Now I have an FE and Gt on order.

Has anyone actually seen a confirmation that they explicitly have an FE order confirmed via this Mach Drop? I’m not talking where your dealer says they submitted it for you since it’s not clear if that actually guarantees you one or just puts you in a lottery, waitlist, etc.

I called again yesterday to ask about limits, I also heard there was no fixed limit on the number of FEs that will be built, the orders just need to be established by 9/18 or 9/15, not sure exactly what day it was they said.

I am not suggesting that yours is a scam nor am I questioning whether Ford has a social media campaign for FEs. Rather, I am warning that some bad players might (and often do) take advantage of a legitimate offer by pretending to be the provider.

I'll let you know, but I just config'ed one with my dealer after the GM called Ford to confirm this promotion, and are supposed to send me an order confirmation form of some sort. We'll see what happens, but it seems legit.
