Would Ford revise Securilert to stop sending annoying unneeded alerts when the car is entered, trunk open etc. With the car owner’s fob?!!!!! I shut off Securilert because of that. Or is there a fix?

As much as I want this functionality Ford specifically mention that it will alert even with the owner's PAAK/key fob because the goal is to alert you. Even if someone were to get your key fob it will still alert you. If someone takes your fob and they get in your car without your permission you want get the alert. So its annoying but, I would rather have the alert than not have it.

It's intended to be used like a security system on your house. Arm it when you know you will be away from the car. It then alerts you to ANYTHING that happens on the car.

You wouldn't want your home security system to disarm just because someone used a copied key to open the door. Same for your car.

The schedule feature is meant to have it turn on if you regularly park somewhere public, like at work. You can make it only active during that time, and then disable about the time you're set to go home.

Yup. The whole point is to prevent a thief from spoofing your fob (well, not actually prevent it, but at least alert you so you can, I dunno, call the cops or something). Interesting note, Ford designed this feature chiefly for its commercial fleet. In Europe in particular, there are roving bands of thieves who use RFID spoofing to steal cars. Ford Transit vans are a favorite.

If you aren't worried about somebody spoofing your fob, either turn off Securialert entirely, or only set it to be active during certain hours (overnight, etc.) I agree it's a pretty useless feature, but I'm sure some people find it useful. Ford did a poor job communicating the purpose of Securialert when it rolled out.

I turned it off because of the delay. I'd go the store, leave my car, be in the store for about 5 minutes and get an alert that my door was opened ... which was from my own actions 5 minutes before. I guess you eventually learn that it was you opening the door, but still, that moment of panic isn't fun.

I just tried to re-enable to see if maybe that issue was fixed, since I would like to have it to know that my hatch has opened on its own and stayed open all night (which is why I had to disable kick-to-open), and the toggle switch to enable SecuriAlert is disabled ... you win again, Ford.
