A big question I still have is how good the vote will be out the rear view mirror. The best way to tell would be to sit in it but looking through from the front window would do well. Go back and take a picture through the car from the front maybe?
They are very similar in proportion and size to the latest version of the Escape. Sitting in one of those may also give you a hint of what looking out the back through the mirror will be like.

The one thing I think I will miss the most when I get my MME is the video rear view mirror in my Bolt. I love that thing--no obstructions for the rearward view such as headrests or people and a wide angle view that is extremely handy. I will miss it.

That review mirror is cool but I couldn't use it. As someone who needs reading glasses (yeah I'm old) I found it difficult to focus on the video mirror which made it more distracting than it should be.

With a normal mirror your eyes remain focused at infinity so its easy to switch from looking out the front to the rear view mirror and back but with the video mirror your focus shifts to looking at a monitor...

That is too bad. I have 3 range transition lenses and they work well for me with the video mirror but I can see how it might not work well for everyone. It would be nice if the mirror had a diopter adjuster (to correct focus) like the electronic viewfinder in my mirrorless Canon camera has. A one time adjustment with the diopter adjuster and the image is in great focus for me. In fact, a smart car would let you program that for each driver and automatically switch the diopter correction for whomever is driving.

Huh, I never would have thought about that until I went to use it. I have old and crappy very nearsighted eyes (from staring at computer screens for 35 years), and wear progressive normally but have special glasses at home and work set for the mid distance of my computer monitors. I also have have to keep prescription sunglasses in my cars. However, I am a cheapskate so my sunglasses aren't progressive but single vision set for infinity/distance. So, when I am wearing them I can't really see the speedo/dashboard or phone/gps very clearly. When I need to look at the phone for nav or waze, I lift my sunglasses and lean in to see clearly.

Yeah, I am a safe driver...

Sound's like a job for "Hey, Ford!"

Not so much a cheapskate spending $60k on a car. Get the progressive sunglasses. I have them and you won't regret it. Or, maybe we'll be able to increase the font on the screen.

I wondered if the rear window might be too short to get a good view out back, but this angle looks like that's not an issue. Can't tell a lot, but it's something.

Sure, but every few years when my eyes change enough to get new glasses I have to buy 5 pairs so I normally skimp on the sunglasses since 99.9% I'm just looking out the windows and not at waze. My near vision is actually barely corrected so lifting the sunglasses is fine to see waze. I was exaggerating about the speedo; it is actually big/clear enough to read with my distance prescription.

Yes, but a wide-angle lens blows the ability to really judge. Look how much bigger Ken Block and Hau Thai-Tang are than the folks in the back seat.

My issue is the opposite. So, necessary for me.

Yeah, it's not a great picture for it, but it's the closest I've seen so far. And does show that the glass looks tall enough, at least.

Looks like the middle headrest might be a bit of an obstacle though. Hope it can just be removed if needed.

Good point. I can't find anything in the writeups on if it is removable.

Not sure about Mach-E, but on my 2014 Fiesta the center headrest is fixed/permanent. The side headrests can be tilted 90 degrees forward (which is where I leave them) or they can be easily removed.
