Our 4X has been flawless so far, 8/30 build, 9/27 chip installs, 10/28 delivery. PAAK works great, as does everything else. CarPlay sometimes takes a second to connect, but, in a Tesla you’d wait for an eternity for it to work ?.

The bonus - all of the neighborhood and local Tesla 3 and Y owners breaking their damn necks staring at it from inside their amorphous blobmobiles.

You should buy a car that you have carefully researched and think will tick as many of your wish list boxes.

if that is a Tesla, so be it. If It is a Mach E, great. Both are good vehicles. There won’t be any vehicle which does not have issues.

All that said, very satisfied Mustang owner with zero issues

2018, Model 3 owner here, been contemplating a Mach-E for a while, and with the latest v11 Tesla update, I can't wait any longer...

~50k mi ony m3, and I can say it is both magical.. and absolutely maddening!

While back in 2018, the OTA updates were great, recently it's made the car harder and harder to use. The most recent v11 update is horrible, text is hidden behind shadows, the font size is 6pt, and now even simple safety controls are buried multiple clicks in the UI. I honestly feel it is unsafe, and long for AndroidAuto, and one click for safety controls, ie windshield wipers in a snowstorm!)

[Road trip rant: v11 took away the option to view all the superchargers on the nav screen, trying to force you into their algorithms for a trip so if you want to grab a bite to eat and stop sooner then planned you have to open your phone find where the supercharger is and then zoom in the map until you get really close to the city and then it'll show up to add to your trip... It didn't used to be like this... So I primarily use autopilot to use ABRP /plugshare on the phone while driving, until autopilot phantom breaks and scares the crap out of everybody... But the supercharging is fast and flawless (except for lines on holiday weekends), and I've been all over the country with no real problems so definitely have to give Tesla credit for that! I loved the car in 2018-2019, (and sometimes still do) but the dozen small repairs, and the bad UI updates make me ready for my next EV...]

The Model 3 is a sedan. The MME is a crossover with actual rear cargo space. Honestly, you will be happy with either. The M3LR will be slightly more efficient and faster and have a more reliable charging network but the MME has better safety features (360 cam, cross traffic alerts, etc), sits higher, has more cargo space, still handles more like a sedan than family SUV, and BlueCruise works well on highways without phantom braking.

i didn’t have any issue with my Model Y nor MME… just very minor annoyances but no glitches that would cause me to be stranded. My rear visibility gripes and panel gaps on the Y don’t apply to the 3.

ArticEV, They didn’t take it away, just a “new” way to get to it …. Just hit the Navigate button, then the Charging tab. Stations visible at any zoom level, indicating the number of available stalls. You can also filter by charging speed: L2, 72kw Superchargers, and 150-250kw Superchargers. (PM me if you want a demo. No need to put the family in a ditch while looking at PlugShare on your phone!! ?)

Back to topic…. OP: Like most have said, MME is a crossover. Model3 is a sedan. Size matters to some. Most people don’t cross shop those segments so your answer may lie there. However, both are great electric vehicles. Choose which one suits your situation best. Good luck!

There is a world of difference in build quality between the MME and Tesla. The MME just feels like a real car whereas the Tesla, to me, feels gimmicky and cheaply made for the price. I also considered that Ford is a company with over 100 years experience in service and support and if they support the MME like they do other Ford models, I won't have to worry too much in the future about parts and service. Sure, they are still ramping up on training technicians, but Tesla went through the same thing. I pick up my MME GT PE this weekend.

6,700 miles here on a Rt1 EXT but not AWD and I've not had any major issues. I do have frequent software bugs, but nothing that has really caused the car not to function.

AWD Premium (4000 Miles) since July. No real issues. PAAK has never failed since update. Sync is 99% perfect (rare glitch always back to normal after restart). Both are solid choices; just remember the build quality with Telsa may lead to some squeaks and noise down the road.

Good Luck, no wrong answer to your decisiion.

Job 1 here with over 10k miles. Even with all the issues, I'd buy it again. Go with your heart. For me, my heart went with the looks of the MME and having a dashboard. Software is eh, customer communications are crap, but the hardware is solid. I still made the right choice for me.

This is a key point: clearly Ford is working through the growing pains of building a computer on wheels, but they nailed the hardware - which is the piece that is hard to "field upgrade". Like all 1.x software it has some bugs that need to work out, but they generally are nuisance issues and not significant. Those software issues will get reconciled.

First, I would like to thank everyone in advance of all their posts. I have have been reading every single post for almost 2 months now. I am down to decision time - my heart and my first choice is the new MME, CR1, Ext Rng, AWD. But over the course of the last 2 month - has anyone got the MME that did NOT have any issues. I am meeting with the Ford dealer I selected tomorrow and kind of having 2nd thoughts now since it is such a new model for Ford. I have read some of the horror stories about the dealers not knowing how to service them and keeping them for weeks. I'm just looking for some assurances from anyone who has gotten the MME that hasn't had problems with it. Thanks for thoughts and guidance.
Love this GT. Came from a 2011 Mustang GT, and had a Mach 1 before that. So this was a big change for me. Yes for me, the Mach E GT is a Mustang, just different. Glad I made the change over to EV. No problems of any kind since delivered 11-18-21. Have about 1,000 miles on it and just drove in snowstorm for first time and it handles great. PAAK works great and I have never use the key fob, just leave it home. I get alot of very positive comments on it to who ever sees or rides in it. Love all the tech, apple car play, and fit and finish are great. Get the Mach E you can't go wrong.

It's the same age-old problem with forums.... The bias online with posts is shifted to "people who had problems", while those who did not (the vast majority) don't post anything.

Edit: Had ours for 10 months and haven't had any issues, aside from a hiccup with getting the 1.7.1 OTA update, but I'm waiting for them to push a fix.

I only have about 800 miles on my GT PE, and so far, I'm very impressed. The hardware (interior, exterior, drivetrain, etc) is well made. The software, however, is a bit quirky. For example, it sometimes tries to set the power seat to memory setting "2" when I get in. That's my wife's setting, and she's shorter than me, so I wind up scrunched up against the steering wheel. (This even happens when I'm away from home and her key fob is nowhere to be found!) I expect this, and other minor issues, will get resolved through a software update.

So, I'd put myself in the "no problems" camp. I'm pleased with my purchase.

I knew it was not just me! I am still playing around with removing and adding Fobs to profiles to see if I can get that to stop. It is no big deal for me either, because she has literally driven my car one time and I can remove her profile if needed. But besides a Sync bug, maybe there is a setting that will keep it from happening.

Over 26,000 miles on my First Edition I got 2/27/21. The few issues I had as a very early adopter (PAAK and P&C) are either better now (PAAK) or fixed (P&C) as Ford was on it for me. Best car I have ever owned or driven and the quality was great compared to what I have seen with Tesla.
