Have there been a lot of ICE F-150 customers waiting for this? MY BIL has a new one and didn't even know about it.

I am one of those affected by the delays on the 2021 model. however my car was supposed to come with BlueCruise enabled being a premium model. So I am not sure what I am getting in the way of an apology from Ford.

Edit: They only announced mea culpas for cars made till July 2021. I am one with 12/11 so I gotta get back at the back of the loooooooong line for my apology I guess.

About the other cars, my understanding was that you need additional sensors to be able to use BlueCruise. How would they be able to make use of this complimentary period?

This is for cars that came with all the required hardware, but just haven’t gotten the software yet.

For those of us who got the car with the sensors but no blue cruise it was originally supposed to come to us summer 2021. But the now we get a free year of blue cruise because of the delay. Originally we were going to have to pay $600 for 3 years. It's unclear if they're now going to charge us $400 for 3 years, or if they're going to just give us a free trial year before we have to pay for it.

Those who got the car after blue cruise was enabled had their MSRP go up to include the first 3 years

I think it's pretty clear - we get a free year. At the end of the free year, we can choose to continue at the then current subscription price. It wasn't worded as only paying for 2 years of a 3 year plan.

This is exactly the way it should be done, in fact I think everyone should get a trial to decide if they will use the feature, vs. paying $200 a year for it. But Ford wants that $600 in revenue, built into the car price.

Well that didn't take long.

Cars built after July 7 2021 that had the hardware came with the bluecruise software installed already. There is nothing to apologize for WRT to bluecruise because there was no additional delay.

Bluecruise was intended to be made available to pre July 7 cars as an OTA by september but that has been delayed until sometime this spring. That's the delay for which the 1 year BC is an apology.

A 12/11/21 build should definitely have had BC already available

This is great news and maybe the reason that the Blue Cruise option has disappeared from the ford.com site for some of us that have gotten the recent OTA's. I would state though, that it shouldn't be a subscription but an option that I can purchase. Can't see the need to spend $200/year for it. All the equipment is in the car already.

The subscription model is to pay for the map updates. Ford gets them from a 3rd party.

You are affected by delayed delivery. You aren't affected by delayed BlueCruise. When your car comes it will have BlueCruise enabled, so this free year has nothing to do with your vehicle.

You ordered on 7/12 per a past post you made. I ordered on 5/29. Your car was built on 12/11. My car supposedly is being built. At this point, you're not even beyond the quoted window for when you placed your order, or by much...

It's not the equipment we're paying for. It's a subscription to ongoing map updates as well as feature updates (such as lane changes)
