You are affected by delayed delivery. You aren't affected by delayed BlueCruise. When your car comes it will have BlueCruise enabled, so this free year has nothing to do with your vehicle.

You ordered on 7/12 per a past post you made. I ordered on 5/29. Your car was built on 12/11. My car supposedly is being built. At this point, you're not even beyond the quoted window for when you placed your order, or by much...
Oh I thought this dude already had his car lol

The subscription model is to pay for the map updates. Ford gets them from a 3rd party.
I understand but that's alot of money a year for that feature. I can't imagine it would be something I'd do for a daily commute unless it was mostly highway. We'll see after I get it whether it's something worth paying for.

Clearly if you don't have a highway commute, or don't plan on traveling with your vehicle, paying for BlueCruise is wasted money.

This is great news and maybe the reason that the Blue Cruise option has disappeared from the ford.com site for some of us that have gotten the recent OTA's. I would state though, that it shouldn't be a subscription but an option that I can purchase. Can't see the need to spend $200/year for it. All the equipment is in the car already.
Well, you could pay $12,000 to have it permananetly enabled when - and if - it ever shows up. If you decide after paying that $12k you don't really like or want to use the feature you will be out $12k.

On the other hand if you pay $600 for 3 years and decide after that time the feature is useless/not worth it you are only out $600. Or, you can decide to keep the car and the feature for 60 years for the same $12k.

Not really sure why you would complain about paying less and having more choice, but I guess that is par for the course on this forum?

Well they did change it to new cars that have it come activated for 3 years as part of the base price of the car. So at least you aren't out of pocket $600 up front just to try it out anymore. And now no one has to pay for it before trying it out.

Well the irony, if I recall correctly, is that when they first started including blue Cruise in the msrp, they raised it by far more than $600

I think you're recalling incorrectly.

The car we bought, made in May, has an MSRP of $56,200. The car we ordered on 5/29, which was after the price increase, was an MSRP of $57,040, or $840 more. The only difference was $240 in floor liners, i.e. it was exactly $600 more.

There may have been price changes prior, but the first to include BlueCruise I believe was in April 2021.

Yay. Free blue cruise for my wife and I.

She doesn’t even like lane centering as is. No way is she going to go hands free.

I bet I use blue cruise twice during my free year. I just don’t really have premapped highways that I drive regularly.

Thanks for the clarification. I think I am getting BlueCruise for 3 years so it wouldn't have hurt for them to give another complimentary year to all 2021 builds, just to compensate for the build delays.

Order dates and build dates have no correlation as you have explained in the past. You are getting a 22 and I am getting a 21. Btw I am well beyond the quoted window which was 16 weeks at the time of my order. Even if you go by the current 6 months lead time I am well out, since the car isn't even built or in any position to ship out currently.

Was 16 weeks quoted by Ford or your dealer? Regardless, it's possible that Ford will offer you something for the delay (250kWh of charging, etc.), but that has nothing to do with BlueCruise or the delay in its availability.

What's the deal for free included charging by the way? I got 500kwh but I'm getting the sense that was maybe a fluke?

You are getting 3 years of BlueCruise from when you activate it, for no additional charge, yes.

I understand your point, and this disappointment at not getting your vehicle, combined with the fact that you're getting a 2021 instead of a 2022. I was happy that my 2021 got converted to a 2022, because of the higher MSRP that I'm not paying for, which only helps resale. Then again, I have a 2021 in my garage.

Everyone buying a car in mid to late 2021 was well aware of manufacturing delays, so it's no surprise.

This "free year" is for people that got a car with a promised feature that still isn't active. We paid for the hardware in the car, didn't pay for the software yet, and expected it to be live in September if not before, and now it will be March, or later, before it's fully functional. This is exactly what Ford should do.

If I was a Ford stockholder, I'd want Ford to step up if they vastly overpromised and underdelivered on manufacturing timeframes, but only if they were way behind all the other car companies, which they are not. In your case, if you get your car in Q1, you'll still get the same tax rebate (albeit a year later), so you're monetarily not out anything. So I'd expect not a dime from Ford. But maybe we will all be pleasantly surprised.

Not a fluke. All MMEs come with 250kWh. Some MMEs that had a longer than normal delay received an additional 250kWh.
Huh. Well that's cool. I actually didn't order mine. The couple that ordered it didn't end up wanting it so I took it back in April of last year. Who knows when they ordered though ?‍♂
