If anyone in NorCal is looking for an IONIQ 5, Chico Hyundai sells at MSRP (but adds like $1k) in various adds ons. Not ideal but in this market it's a good deal.

Just curious - how would the handling change on a premium AWD if you put all season 235s on it? Would that improve handling markedly?

I've got stock 245s on my GT and it's so much more surefooted than the 4X was on the same roads. Alex on Autos did a video of the differences when he swapped out to Lincoln wheels with 245s on his 4X.

So i called around and got an Ioniq 5 at msrp. It will get here in about 3 weeks likely before I'll get a build date for my MME. I think ill keep my MME order and give it to my wife. Im happy not to be anxiously check my Ford order everyday :)

"Much more refined in terms of sportiness" .... wth does this even mean?

Mr. Spec is very gifted at knowing & recalling every vehicle spec but his capacity to express what he is experiencing in a vehicle is very marginal. I seldom learn anything of value from his free-form rambles, the quote above being a prime example.
yeah, he is free-forming too much. listening to him is like hearing words but no coherent flow. Sounds come in one ear and exit the other and seldom stick in my memory for extended period of time. Maybe if he edited those vidoes to basically 10-20% of current run-time, then he might be a reviewer worth listening to.

I knew he would not recommend the Mach E, but he did come close to it.
lets not forget the keyless entry which is priceless to me as i go on the water to paddleboard and do not have my key fob or phone with me.

I am living in Sweden, so I would never, ever buy a car without rear windshield wiper (EV6 and Ioniq5). Also, there has been a lot of reports of malfunction in the heating systems in EV6 in Sweden. While living in a country with snow and low temperatures 4-5 months a year the winter capabilities is essential. I am happy with my Mach -e, it is a really great winter car.

I don’t really get the appeal of the ioniq5, I think it looks like a grumpy minivan. I was trying to reserve my opinion on it until I saw one in person because pretty much everyone seems to like the styling in the reviews. I guess it’s just my personal preference there though.

Interior seems nice enough and seats look great. I don’t really like how the two screens have the giant white plastic surround. I definitely prefer displays with as little bezel as possible, the ioniq5’s interior looks cheap to me because of that.

I also haven’t heard much of the range meeting expectations, I saw the very quick recharge time at fast chargers capable of putting out that much power which is nice, but I use level 2 for probably >90% of my charging and rarely reach max charge rate at fast chargers so I don’t weigh that very high. I guess that’s why I bought a MME though ??‍♂

Looks like he got around 3.1 miles per kWh which is very good in those conditions! I typically get around 2.7 miles per kWh at 70 mph in much warmer weather! From my observations, the MME range begins to degrade somewhere around 50 degrees F.
Just an FYI. He did not get 3.1 mi/kWh and he never said how much power they put back into the battery after the test. I do not know why, but they needed to report that for a real true range test. If they used all 77 kWh, they got 2.95 mi/kWh.

Went to college there, would even enjoy a trip back, although it would be a bit weird since it wasn't yesterday that I was there, and it's a long way to go.

I drove by the local dealership and they have one on the inside. I didn't stop in though. I doubt they're selling at MSRP.

I think the EV6 RWD Limited might be the way to go. 300 miles of range, I like the look, and it apparently handles pretty well but not as fast as AWD the AWD but still faster than what I'm driving now.

Does the Ioniq5 take 8 to 10 months delivery like the Mach E? Does any new car take this amount of time for delivery?
The Ioniq 5 is currently only available in ZEV states last I heard. It was the first one I was interested in. But I live in Tennessee and can't get one here. Could go out of state but where will I go for any service, updates, etc?

Actually there are now Ioniq 5s in many non-ZEV states including TN. Check out Hyundai Columbia TN.

I picked this SEL up on Monday night, for about $3k over MSRP, which I can live with. Overall, I'm happy with it. The non-wireless carplay didn't bother me because it never worked well in the mach-e and plugging in is so much easier. The ride is smooth and my efficiency is 3.3-3.4 mi/kwh going about 75 on the freeway for a week. Free charging, like everyone mentioned, isn't a huge benefit unless you like to stop and charge while you're out. Interior is pretty nice and roomy and is just a different feel than the MME. I like the ability to charge/power other things with the attachment that I bought ($500). The price wasn't too bad, about the same as a premium at MSRP after the markup. Free 3 year maintanence - no big benefit there lol and a longer battery warranty than the MME. Each person will have their own opinion but it's a tax write off for me at the end of the day.

Agree on shorter videos, maybe they could make a series of short episodes tackling a certain part of the comparison? I find the 30-60 minute length videos usually just too much of an ask in terms of time spent on one specific topic/vehicle comparison.
