GTPE hasn't gotten the charge curve update yet.
Wow...thank you. I did not know that (as I still don't have my car). Seems odd that they did not upgrade the GT yet as it is the same battery pack and same core electronics.

Has the Premium AWD ER or 1st edition been tracked?

I think that’s the rumor that started with a Youtube comment. Guy says he chatted with drunk Ford engineers and they said March. Would be nice!
Yes, that's the one . . . the drunken reveal of confidential company information by rogue engineers in an airport bar . . .

Very interesting. A balanced review of the experience. I'm pleasantly surprised by some of the good things said here.

Hey that was me! I love going to the track. Is a 5,000 lb electric SUV an ideal track car? Definitely not. Was it a fun time? It was easily the most novel track experience I've ever had. I wanted to see what it's it's like to track an EV without a trailer. Starting with 67% SOC and 36 degrees is not optimal, but I have zero control over those factors.

Am I going to track the GTPE more? You betcha! It's a great experiment and I enjoy sharing a very unique experience.

36 degree exterior temps and 66% state of charge.

What a waste. The car is NEVER going to perform well in those conditions.
If I waited for 'perfect' conditions, I'd never do a single lap. I can't control the weather nor the charger location. The way I see it, every time I take GTPE to a new track, I'm setting a new track record for the car. Can't put a price on how much fun I'm having ;)

Hey, I appreciate your experience and sharing it with everyone.

I’m just afraid that when you do it in those conditions you do more harm than good for the GTPE image.

It’s kinda like the guy who posted the autobahn “top speed run” which looked horrible. Just fuel for the fire when it took 54 seconds to hit top speed from 60 mph in the cold.

Another guy posted a video at 90% charge in warm weather…… 13 seconds to go from 70 to 124 mph.

It’s a DRASTICALLY different car in the cold. The problem is that not every will get that context.

Do other performance EVs like Teslas experience that, too? I feel like they can just go and go, and you don’t hear much about throttling.

I'm not here to sugarcoat what happened. It's not a perfect car, and neither is a Tesla, despite what the Teslerati want you to believe.

I drove the car in real world conditions and will continue to do so. If the car takes x seconds to accelerate why should that be downplayed? It's a situation few owners will encounter.

I'm driving the car in the same manner Ford represents to the public. I think that's 100% fair. Ford provided an autocross for the media to drive at the launch event.

I proved that you can take the car to the track without a trailer and I never had a fault or unexpected problem. That's great!

Real world experience does far more good for any brand than marketing hype. Ford made a great car. I took it to the track and it performed admirably under conditions that challenge any vehicle.

On balance, I think the car is fantastic in day to day use. 99.99% of owners will never drive thier car like I do. I'm very deeply into an edge use case. If anything, my experiences may incentivize Ford to continue making improvements for this generation and the next.

Tesla takes a different approach to heat management. They have a decade more of engineering cycles and EV experience than any other manfucturer. Props to them for making EVs mainstream. Yes, you can take a M3P and X on track longer before encountering major power reduction issues.

Well then we're in the early days for Ford, exciting stuff but also a lot of patience needed right now!

Yes, it’s a real world experience.

But so is walking around with my pants down.

And if I were going to present myself to the world, it’s better to wear pants.

Summary: Bro! you’re making us look bad!

While realistic, people could take the car to the drag strip when it’s cold, low SOC and they botch the launch, then show a 15 second 1/4 mile.

Instead I’d rather they post a warm, high SOC best run.

I strongly encourage you to post your own videos and show the vehicle in the way you want it portrayed.

My video is about a vehicle, not any person or group so I don't understand how I'm making anyone look good or bad.

lmao Mach1e doesn't like honest information about the Mach-E out there because he doesn't want the car to look bad. Good lord have some integrity, what's wrong with you.

My car ran 0-60 in 8 seconds because it was cold out and I was at 42% SoC and I'd been doing 80 on the highway. But I guess we shouldn't ever talk about things like that because we don't want Ford to look bad! What the hell dude. Seriously. Disgusting.
