A second on this being a Bondo repair. The rear quarter panel is typically structural. It's a massive job to replace it. This will be hammered out, sculpted with filler, and repainted. It might look good for a few years, but in a decade it will have an obviously different color, texture and perhaps corrosion.

This is a tough situation. That car is going to be repaired and sold as new. If you don't accept it, it's going to someone else. With the supply shortage, it's probably going to sell with ADM. The dealer is going to profit now and still have your order as a future sale. Ford isn't likely to help.
I'm not sure if Options is offered in Canada (though a lease would be?), perhaps if the issue is what the vehicle will look like in a number of years while being OK the first few years, the way to go about is to do Options or a lease instead of outright buying it?

I teared up seeing this. So sorry....... Tell them you want perfection and the paint has to match perfectly in color and texture. It must be 100% blemish free. I would even have it professionally inspected after to make sure it is indeed perfect. Every seam, every detail. That's a full quarter replacement, not an easy task to do perfectly, except with the correct shop and experience. A lot must be removed to do it, and put back right.

I do agree it can be hammered out and filled with filler. Do you want that? I guess it would depend on the shop doing it.

There also appears to be some damage on the lower portion of the bumper near the center......see the gap in the plastic.

My guess is it may not hit the carfax since it's not an insurance claim for an Owner.

My two cents... since this is a dealer (and not a shady backyard bodyshop) there will be a record of the job being in a collision and being repaired. This will greatly affect the resale value of the car. As much as it sucks, I would either walk away from this or insist on a reduced sale price to offset the loss of value. (Walk, walk, walk)
I second Jay's comment. I would insist on a significant discount.

I did suggest they compensate us by giving us a set of 4 x snow tires since we still need to buy them. That's when I got the "this isn't Fords fault" response. I will request a VIN check on it before I accept to see if the collision is reported on there because that is also a fear I have.

We don't have "Options" just a lease instead of a purchase. I'm not a big fan of doing a lease though. But it is something to consider in this case.

I said some 4 letter words when I got the text message. And then more when I saw the pictures. This was supposed to be my midlife crisis family car.

It would not hurt to ask the opinion of your insurance agent, if you have a good relationship with them. I do not know how quickly VIN check data would be updated but I'd hate for it to be reported after you thought you were clear. The carriers insurance company will surely pay the dealer for the repair, but you have big opportunity to get screwed in loss in value (if you are concerned with such things). But if you are likely to keep the car long enough to make that a moot point, then well I guess it's a moot point. :)

I wouldn't accept it. It will look fine (but repainted and lpgged as an accident vin) when done, but parts are hard to get and the wait will be long. I'd re-order or move on or try to find another vehicle.

so,,, nope on that. but, if you aren't bothered by any of that, and some are not, then get it fixed and enjoy regardless.

I'm totally conflicted and angry that we've even been put in this situation. The MRSP is almost $90k on this car in Canada. At the moment, I feel like I'm getting shafted.
I would walk away, and order another one. If it was me this repaired damage would be a serious shock to my OCD. Are you finding dealers in Canada asking more than MSRP?

No. I believe there were some asking more but Ford has cracked down on them and threatened to pull their dealership.

I am seriously bothered by it. I'm buying a new car, not a damaged and repaired car. The more I think about it, the more I'm leaning towards walking away from this one. I'm not desperate. I have a great car I can keep driving for another year. The dealership doesn't know that. I had sold my car last week, but backed out of the deal and decided to keep it...BEFORE we knew about this. So not in a rush.
