I’m a nerd and I bought a new toy for my phone (thermal imaging camera). I took a few photos of my MME this morning during pre-conditioning. I love to see where the seat heater elements are…

I was a little surprised this winter to see that my Lvl2 charge cable will melt the snow/ice underneath it.

Interesting to see the battery back heating beneath the front floor.

Was this a remote start or the start time?
That's a great question and point.

The Mach-E has two capabilities - Departure times and Remote Start. It has no "pre-conditioning option". People keep using a term that doesn't exist, at least now, for this car.

There are beliefs as to what happens during Departure time vs. Remote Start, based on testing people are doing and assumptions they are making, but no definitive list of the differences.

This post wins the forum for the day. Does that tool allow for a timelapse?

If what you say is true, then why did Ford just send me a message in FordPass telling me to “Precondition my Mustang Mach-E”?
Here’s what they say specifically:
“Precondition your vehicle by scheduling departure times to warm the cabin and the battery while plugged-in (using the FordPass™ App or the SYNC® 4A touchscreen)”
(Emphasis added)
Call me silly, but I’m going on the assumption that the manufacturer of the vehicle has at least an inkling of how the vehicle works ?‍♂

So which did the OP do, since you can't select "pre-condition".

We should use the terminology of the function that we can select. That way people will be clear about what someone is talking about.

What term are you going to use if Ford says that Remote Start includes minor pre-conditioning, or when they add pre-conditioning capability when a DC charger is selected?
