When I first got the car I was determined to use 1Pedal since it was the cool new thing for EVs and so many people spoke so highly of it. Well after almost 3 weeks I decided to try going back to non 1Pedal because there were certain things I just wasn't getting used to.

But now I feel like I've lost some of my non 1Pedal skills. I used to be a pretty good driver. Now I feel like I'm in driver's ed again.

I'm too much in my head now. Anyone else go through something similar?

Surprisingly; nope.
Was worried that I would have issues switching between the Mach-e on 1pd and my Highlander. Has not been an issue at all.

Then again I exclusively drove manual cars for about 12 years of my life and I guess I really got used to the feel of engine braking.

Sort've had the same experience, was used to the car decelerating fairly rapidly on its own to coasting at speed, it's pretty jarring, kind of had to re-earn my 'sea legs'.

The only thing I don't like about 1 Pedal is the clunk when starting from a stop, which I assume is the mechanical brakes or something in the drive motor unlocking. Does not feel seamless.

The clunk was definitely part of it for me. That said, I'm not loving some of the squeaky brake noise I'm getting at the end in non1pedal. Hoping that's just the rust coming off and/or the brake pads breaking in a bit.

Also I feel like I'm not as great at aggressive maneuvers in 1pedal. I don't mean reckless stuff but like having to merge onto a highway in a tight spot where you might have to give it some juice momentarily only to then hard-ish brake to fit in. I feel like controlling the braking to not be jerky in fast go/stop situations like that are a bit difficult.

Some like it, some don't. I never wanted a high speed golf cart, so tried it and that was that.

FWIW, I love 1PD, my wife hates it.
I am Unbridled 1PD, she is Whisper 2PD. (It's a Venus vs Mars thing... LOL)
The clunk is annoying sometimes, but if you accelerate really slowly at first I find it is smoother.

The clunk on acceleration didn't bother me as much as on decel. I'll have a buttery smooth stop until right at the end and while it's definitely not a deal breaker by any means, it was just frustrating after such an otherwise smooth stop.

I tried one pedal for a day, decided it’s not for me, and have been rotating between the three modes 2pd. I only use whisper in snowy/icy conditions. Unbridled is my fave but sometimes engaged is fun just for the brake coach.

I occasionally use 1PD for the novelty but find it less precise than 2PD. I’m glad it’s there but it feels like a fad to me. It’s mostly desirable because it’s different not because it’s better.

I do think my brakes are breaking in, I don't notice the clunk as much now, just turned 7K on the OD.
The rotor surface can get surface rust/crap from non use because of 1pedal and will let you know they are there when you need them. Once they get cleaned off from a couple of hard stops all is quiet again.
Our cars are heavy and, sometimes it is difficult not to be jerky, those brakes have a lot of work to do.
I always apply the emergency brakes before I release the brake pedal when parking to keep the car from rocking back and forth.
I can't toss it around like my Mazda 3.

I drove a stick-shift for 10+ years until I "grew up" and had to drive car-seat compatible vehicles. I compare 1-pedal driving to going back to the manual transition technique of downshifting. A technique I would use quite often to preserve the breaks and have better handling on slippery roads. So, if you never drove a stick it might feel odd.

Maybe it's because of traffic where I'm at, but I can't stand 1PD. The constant need for pedal inputs is annoying when I just want to coast. I don't want to waste energy between putting energy back into the battery (regen) vs into the motor. I find the small amount of regen in Engage when lifting off the accelerator perfectly matches all slushbox automatics I've driven. If I want more regen, I just push the L button.

Unbridled doesn't make much of a difference for acceleration for me (probably because I have the slowest model), but it greatly increases steering force input, which in the city, isn't what I want :)
