I have a 2021 Mach-E Premium. Until yesterday, I could engage the hands on self driving feature. It stopped working yesterday. I thought it was the Lane keep assist that was turned off, but I toggled it and made sure it was on. I have Intelligent Adaptive Cruise enabled and I can press the Adaptive Cruise button and it will maintain speed. This is only one of the recent issues I have had with the software on the Mach-E. One day it will work fine, the next day it will not work the same way. I’m taking it to my dealer today. I’m not sure if this issue has happened with other Mach-E owners or not. Has anyone else encountered this issue? If so, how did you get it resolved?

Yes, others have had problems with Lane Centering, which is the when the bubble appears around the car in the dash. Mine failed both two weeks ago on my way down south, and yesterday on my way up home.

After the BlueCruise update happens (whatever year that is), if it happens again I'll bring it in.

Hi there! Would you send us a private message with your VIN and dealership name and location? I’d like to look into this concern on my end.

You're turning on both the adaptive cruise and the lane centering on the wheel, right? Can you take a picture of the instrument cluster while this is happening? Does the little car icon have the green lines on either side and the blue line in front?

Have you updated your vehicle with FDRS recently(or OTA)? one of the updates I did broke my lane centering, but after another IPC and APIM(SYNC) update it was back.

I took my Mach-E in to the dealership. I have to take it back on Wednesday and leave it all day. They discovered that there are 13 updates that only the dealer can install that need to be installed on my Mach-E. I hope that will fix the quirky electronic issues I have been experiencing. As for the hands on lane centering, it appears to have healed itself, because all weekend it worked correctly.
I am an IT person and I know that software does not heal itself, if it works sometimes and not others, it indicates a deeper issue that needs to be addressed. Hopefully, the updates that the dealer will install will fix the issues. I can’t understand why some updates cannot be OTA updates though.

It's unclear if your vehicle is a Job 1 or Job 2 2021. If Job 1, there is a customer satisfaction program to update 12+ modules that, depending on when you bought it, should have been applied prior to sale.

Hi there! Could you please send us a PM with your VIN and the name and location of your Ford dealer? I'd be happy to look into how I can assist you on my end.

I got my Mach-E Premium back from the dealer. I noticed that the center screen was wonky immediately after they applied several updates. I had to pull into the parking lot of the dealership and reset the center screen. Even after that I noticed that the screen was not the same.
The three driving modes were just three blank blocks. They have since “healed” themselves and I can see them again.
Then I realized that Co-Pilot 360 was no longer on my Mach-E Premium. Where there used to be a car with lines around it in the center of the 10” screen now there was only a large speed reading.
I thought the Driver’s Assistant settings needed to be checked again. All my settings were still there but Intelligent Adaptive Cruise was no longer available. In other words, My car was downgraded to a base model with the updates.
I was very upset because not only were the issues I took the car in to get fixed, not fixed but returned today while I was driving (manually thanks to the downgrade), but I had lost most of the functionality that made my purchase of a Premium model necessary.
I contacted Ford and got a case number and I am going to take it in, yet again on Monday so they can sort all these issues out. I hope I don’t pick up the equivalent of a low end KIA when I pick my Mach-E up after the re-repairs. Ford is picking up the cost of a rental because the dealer does not have loaners or rental cars available, another discouraging issue.
I sold a Cadillac CT6 and bought the Mach-E. If this is a common occurance, I may be driving an Electric Cadillac Lyriq soon. I’ve never experienced the quirky issues that I have encountered on this car in a Cadillac.

I guess you didn't have a Caddy with the first generation of CUE. The updates we had to do on that system make Sync 4a updates look like child's play.

Intelligent Cruise Control setting can be found under adaptive cruise control now. That happened with one of the updates you got. That’s all in preparation for BlueCruise.

I had a lot of cars, new and used, but never experienced so many issues with them. Dealerships are not ready to provide professional service for EV cars. Or maybe this is some kind of sabotage because they lose a good chunk of profit from maintenance.

All MMEs have Co-Pilot 360. There’s no difference in software from base to premium, outside of having the tech/comfort package. So, your car wasn’t downgraded, just obviously clear that there’s something very wrong there after the update. Hope it gets resolved quickly.

I had my recall and software updates done this week. On way home I tried to use the adaptive cruise control and the bubble doesn’t appear (or the hands on wheel icon). It kept speed but the self drive was not working for sure. I have job 1 and no blue cruise. Definitely not working like before. I believe the cam needs recalibrated and saw a tsb that maybe the impa module needs to be checked. I have to call Monday

After this drive, having let the car stay turned off for 30+ minutes, was this still an issue on your subsequent drives?

Certain calibrations occur automatically during driving, others need to be done by the dealer. I'm curious to find out whichever this turns to be in the end.
