IPC Buzzing noise was due to be fixed months ago ! See Oasis message attached. Still nothing and so annoying. My Ford dealer in London can’t do anything ?

I believe SSM 49831 is new on this forum. Thank you for sharing. The wording of your quote is much better than SSM 49810 (the original topic of this thread). I wonder if any one with access to SSMs and TSBs can search for the word “buzzing” and see if there’s any followup to this.

I transcribed the quoted picture to make it easier to read for every one.

SSM 49831 - Mustang Mach-E. Buzz noise from the Instrument Panel Cluster IPC.

Some Mustang Mach-E venicles may exhibit a buzzing noise from the IPC that changes with the brightness setting. This may be due to an electromechanical issue within the IPC display component. Engineering is currentiy working on a solution expected by October 2021. Please let the customers know they can continue using the vehicle, with no other implications related to this concern. Keep monitoring Oasis messages for this issue updated information.

It’s March 2022, is the fix ready yet?

I haven’t heard of a fix, just sort of a low-key program to replace the IPC with a Job 2 vehicle IPC which buzzes less, not zero.

Other than climate control, I'm not sure what other people are constantly accessing on the Sync system that makes this lag so horrible? Even when I used to just listen to the radio, there was never any lag switching stations or anything.
There is severe lag for 30 seconds or so when the car is started. The only other time I have noticed lag it is when something is malfunctioning like when my navigation locked up.

Nice to hear it. In my case, it was unreliable and the phone was constantly overheating.
Maybe the reason is lack of updates because of 1.7.1 issues.
Which type of iPhone? The iPhone 12s have an issue with some wireless charging. It was, apparently resolved by Apple with the iPhone 13. Wireless charging will warm things up more than a lightning cord will though. Doesn’t account for your (now former) wireless CarPlay issues though.

Anyone try to replace the IPC yet? Any luck with dealers?

I feel like my IPC buzz noise is getting louder. Pretty annoying.

SSM 49831 doesn't seem to exist in Ford's system that I can find. The only article with "buzz" in it is the SSM 49810

The SSM 49831 info came up a while back, but is exclusive to the UK. It was never published in the US, since we were told it's expected...

So the dealer doing the adhesion recall and customer satisfaction updates told me that I also received an update that would address the buzz (I assume adjusting some PWM setting). However, I noticed no difference.
EU is promised a solution via software, but I don't think it has been pushed, if it's developed.

I have my IPC replaced in September 2021. I had a call with Ford Engineers (after they had already come out and said it is what it is and for dealers not to replace them) and they said the buzzing was fixed on the production line and they'll have mine replaced. Well, it was slightly quieter, or maybe just a different frequency, but still there.

I now have a late November build 2021 GT PE and I cannot hear the buzzing. I hadn't "tried" to listen for it, but it hasn't found my ear yet and my Premium's buzzing, even with the new IPC, would even cut through music. So I'm hoping it really is solved. Maybe they also pulled the bulletin that told dealers to do nothing about this and you can try and get it replaced now?

That would be wonderful if they have solved this issue in full. Anything specific you had to do/say to have them replace the IPC?

One year into ownership, it’s still the most and really only notably annoying thing about this vehicle for me.

I’m thinking of trying to get it done when I go in for the windshield and panoramic roof recall.

I had the help of a Ford exec to locate a car at MSRP and I had told him about the buzzing noise and that Ford had already said they won't fix it. He said he'll make some calls and got an exception made. Hopefully now, it may be easier to get done just taking to a dealer and raising a slight bit of stink saying its causing headaches, etc.

Ford is installing a revised IPC software on my EU model today that is supposedly going to reduce the buzz (not eliminate). Will report back.
Got the car back. Nothing revolutionary, feels like much the same. I'll measure it like I did before the update do be somewhat methodical about it.
The loaner I had was not as bad, though.
