The glass work on my ME was done by the dealer’s Ford certified collision shop. Came back looking better than when it went in. Glass alignment was perfect. A slight lingering odor of urethane adhesive. I was initially hesitant to have the work done but now I’m glad I did. Nice not seeing the constant recall reminders in Ford Pass.

My dealer, (Body Shop) brings in a glass co., has had her since Tuesday. I have not heard a peep as of yet. Hope all is well. For those of you who have had the recall; how long did it take?

They are allotted 2 days, and 2 days for the rental. Timing of all the intervention (prep car for glass shop, glass shop does work, put car back together, clean) may move that a bit. Many also got 21P22 performed which is another few hours. If they break the windshield, then of course that's out the window, so to speak.

Well it was scheduled for Tue @ noon and I dropped it off Monday after work. So we are right about at that 2 day window now. Hope they didn't break the glass. I waited many months hoping they could learn on someone else's ride before doing mine. Not getting 21P22. I called about the Blue Cruise Update and they told me to wait for the OTA.

Dropped off my Mustang Mach E for the windshield and pano recall yesterday. The service guy had a few interesting comments:
  • They wait until their glass company confirms they have a supply of replacement windshields before they do this work. He confirmed they have 8 replacement windshields in stock.
  • They’ve had a very high breakage rate on the windshields. He explained that the windshield is a structural part of the car, and under tension.
  • The panoramic roof has to be removed to replace the windshield.
Go get your car.
Find another dealership to do the work.

I have been waiting for several months too and our Ford dealer still hasn’t done one! I did have them do the CSP but I plan on waiting for Blue Cruise to come via OTA’s. CSP 21P22 does provide faster DC charging above 80% which was the main reason I went for it.

Let me guess. They're telling you they haven't received a "solution" from Ford yet for the glass recall.

I'm a dealer right now having the oil changed (in my ICE car) and happened to ask them how their glass recalls have gone.

I'm glad to be reading this thread because the service writer told me they've done several and they haven't gone well. Apparently ALL have resulted in broken glass. I'll likely check a few other dealers because I'm not thrilled with waiting a month for replacement glass.

It must vary by dealer to dealer I guess.
My dealership says the breakage rate has been 25%. They performed the two glass recalls in one day and the windshield didn't break.

I will say, Just looking at some of the history of cars I've looked up, there is a pretty high rate of windshields breaking in the process. I haven't been paying close attention to that, but have noticed several with that note in there.

It also could be that the glass company they are using just sucks and they break all the ones they do, while other dealers might use a company that has a better success rate.

I’m confident my windshield broke (so states in the paperwork), and it took 31 days.

Huh, I removed a window from a car in a wrecking yard during my lunch with nothing more than a dull pocket knife and a screwdriver. The urethane was baked to a pretty hard consistency. Glass was intact, as was the defogger grid. The glass guys need to stop rushing. ?‍♂?
