I cracked too.....but it was my wife that convinced me. She didnt have to nudge me too much though.

I told her about the price reduction and how now the original Premium AWD SR was a much better value than the FE. Also told her about my concern about the dark interior getting too hot and having too much battery BUT.....also getting contrasting stitching and much quicker sprint time (.4 seconds is huge...)

She said...."Let me get this straight... you can take delivery of a special edition version this year with all the features and take the tax credit this year? Drive the car for 3 or 4 months and then see if you need the extra range or not......see if the dark interior is really an issue? If you determine you dont need the quickness or the battery or it's too hot then you can probably sell it and break even? People can't buy a Mach E off the lot for at least another year so you wont have any problem selling it and still take delivery of the original Premium that you ordered? .......and get ANOTHER tax deduction in 2021?"

Well, I cracked and because of the price reduction, changed my order from Premium AWD SR to ER, which now keeps me under the $55K max MSRP for the NJ Tax Rebate. I know I really don't NEED the extended range, except in a few circumstances, and we have an ice for those occasions. It might have been the slightly faster 0 - 60 performance, which I will probably never use, but, again, against all common sense, I went for it. There was something about the 220 mile range that bugged me, as it seemed to just to too low for a current EV, with cars like the Kia Niro beating it, etc. If I was going to have it for a number of years, I was a bit afraid it would seem outdated almost immediately. Fundamentally, I am weak and gave in to my more base instincts, rather than logic and/or real need.

I also changed the interior from the light gray to black. I initially chose it because I thought the lighter seats would absorb less heat in the summer. However, I just didn't quite like the aesthetics of the white and gray mixed interior. Also, I am not a real fan of Gray leather. Was also worried about how well it would age, showing more dirt, scuffs, etc.

But, 4.8 sec 0 to 60, now, that is something.

Should be nice to have the option to take the mach on a few more occasions. Congrats

nope...VHS will never last cause it has two wheels, laser disc is here to stay cause you will never have anything with more space, HD dvd is going to win because it describes the media better than blu-ray. I mean come on

A thumb (flash) drive does better for data (digital video included) and eventually it will all be streamed; from the clouds . What the video standard will become who knows. I do know they will need to speed up peoples connections if it is 8K. By that time me and my mach will most likely be long gone.

My Toshiba HD-DVD still works ... and I have a pile of discs from when Fry's put them all on $5 clearance, plus the Blade Runner "briefcase" with 9 discs that I got for like $20. I also have a PC HD-DVD-ROM drive (although I am not sure I have software that will play them any longer).

If you ever want to, you can convert the HD-DVD to other formats, there is software available to do that. I have used makeMKV to do this in the past - I no longer have my Toshiba HD-DVD player but I converted all the disks and saved them on my hard drive.

how did you change it?

Contacted my dealer. Almost instantaneously I got confirmation from ford. If you are going to make a change do it pretty quickly. Speculation is the orders will be processing to Mfg soon, maybe middle of month.
