Oh Ford how you taunt me. Just picked up a new Edge rental for the day from Sky Harbor. First of all surprised to see Sync 4A, but even more surprised to see a successful OTA.

Not an expert, but I suspect you didn't get the map update. 22P08.
Does anyone know if there is an OTA for the map update? Or what version of maps is needed? I assume that is the same map version used by the nav system, correct?

There is an OTA map update for newly built vehicles that were not released before the map expiration. I got my OTA yesterday. If you’re adding BlueCruise to a 2021 its a different process and would be included with all the other updates.

So that icon kept asking me to dig further. Lo and behold, a real release note was there.

I'm surprised to see them doing a recall OTA. I thought Tesla got in some trouble for that.

Most Tesla recalls are performed OTA.
Now that I think about it, the issue was that they were doing OTAs to correct safety deficiencies without reporting them to NHTSA as recalls. That picture above shows the recall #, so Ford is still following the process.

The issue is that the a formal recall has a paper trail whereas a buyer can't go to the NHTSA website to see if their Tesla has the update to prevent their car from crashing into an Ambulance.

I had an appointment for May 10 to get Blue Cruise installed and to do the 10K check up. My car is an early Job 1 and I am tired of waiting for OTA updates. I have been looking forward to receiving BC since I purchased the car last August. I am hoping it goes smoothly.

Update: Into the dealer (May 10) at 8 am. Talked with them at 5pm. Going slowly but no issues yet. They said the tech is taking his time and going step by step. I am expecting another report mid day today.

Update May 12 8am: Just got the call from the dealer that the update is complete. They want to take it for a check ride which of course, I agreed to. If all is well, I will pick it up tomorrow and do my own check ride.

I just received a notification in FordPass about having received 2.6.0. Interesting that Tonesto’s widget never showed either of my cars as being teed up for any updates. Of course I’m away and can’t go check it out for myself.

I believe that update is just a "number change only" update if you were on 2.3.x. This brings the numbering in line with what is needed for the BC updates to install from my understanding.

The widget has been down for a few days. @tonesto7 is expecting to release an update today.
