I wonder if 2022s have this problem. My 11/2021 build GT PE still has the buzz and it seems like it has gotten louder too.
Would be great if someone could post a video of their 2022 Mach-E's IPC (the screen behind the steering wheel), getting close to it in the video, to see if it is picking up any buzzing.

That’s been done ad nauseum. The problem is the auto gain on the cameras used. It’ll start cranking up sensitivity until it hears something. In the end that proves nothing. If you have the buzz and it bothers you, that’s good enough validation. If you don’t have the buzz, good. If you have the buzz and it doesn’t bother you, that’s ok too.

Has there been any posted on 2022s? I know we went through this exercise pretty substantially at launch, but I don't think I have seen a video of a 2022.

I think your statement is fair that if there is any buzzing to some extent the camera is likely to amplify it. But if there is no buzzing (and definitely, you can try it with any other car's IPC, any TV in the house, any laptop or tablet), there would not be any noise coming through a recording.

Cellphones aren’t the most sophisticated recording devices. And in fact some of the humming, buzzing etc is from the phone, feedback or the like. Been through this on a noise complaint that escalated into a lawsuit at the HOA I was an officer at (at the time). That suit was a complaint about a rooster on … wait for it ….
wait for it …..

A Ranch. In Ag zoned land.

Personally, I’m in the I can’t hear anything like that therefore I don’t have the noise category. If it’s really there (my early twenty nieces and mid 20 nephew say it’s not), I don’t care. Others can and do. At least one person got rid of their MME because of it. Sensitive hearing or not, it was a problem for them. It’s too bad something can’t resolve it. ?‍♂

Yeah, they all do it. The newer ones just are quieter.

My GTPE buzzes, but it’s rare I notice it.

Just add it to the long list of “noises” the car makes-
A/c blowing
Pedestrian noise
Cooling fans
Fake acceleration sounds
Road noise
Real electric motor noise
(and all of these are louder than the screen buzz!)

Maybe if you just pretend the buzzing is the sound of your engine idling, you’ll get used to it!

Here’s a video from my 2022 MME Premium that I bought about a week ago. You can very clearly hear the buzzing sound from the IPC.

That’s an opinion, and it’s not provable at this point anyway. People in this thread have strong opinions on the subject, particularly those who have hearing sensitive to the background hum — even while they’re recording with devices that could themselves cause some electronic noise in the recording. Regardless, none of it matters at this point as it’s sadly not changing. Those with a buzz that annoys them have a no cost optional feature apparently. Lucky them. :(

If only it had a v8 to drown out these noises :)

One of the variables is how bright you have the screen set. If you can hear the screen, try turning down the screen brightness.

You seem to be thinking that people are recording it with their phone and validating it that way... No, people are hearing it with their ear and just posting the recording and validating that the recording sounds how they hear it, without any added "electronic noise in the recording." This isn't 1950, your phone microphone can be more sensitive, sure, but you're making it sound like your phone is creating additional noise due to some interference, etc. which is wholly inaccurate. Please be sure to not turn your microwave on or your internet will disconnect.

At this point, it’s no longer opinion. It’s proven fact.

100% of the videos of screens posted on many different vehicles all have the buzz. Even people claiming “no buzz” posted videos…… with a buzz.

There is currently zero evidence of a screen without a buzz.

Completely agree, literally zero videos out there with no buzzing.

It's easy to prove, literally any other vehicle or just an LCD screen in someone's house can be used as a control to be used as a comparison. Record that with your phone, play it back it, listen to what it sounds like, and now do the same to your Mach-E and the difference is night and day.

Definitely, some people can't hear it or are unbothered by it if they do, but the objective evidence is pretty overwhelming that every single IPC does this.

I typically have to play around with the brightness setting every time and multiple times during a trip in order to find the setting with the least annoying buzz sound. Its extremely annoying & distracting. It really seems like it has gotten louder over the year as well. Very strange.

Did anyone figure out yet, that the brightness of the screen determins the amount of buzz?
Changing it can take the buzz away

You cannot prove the non existence of something. You know that. If you’re going to make a universal claim, you’re the one who needs to provide the evidence of the universal existence of something.
