Passing lane is open for interpretation. Recently took the RV up to Maine (Bar Harbor) for a trip. Three or four times in those more northern states I had people pass me in the emergency lane when I was in the right lane with the RV. Those are the idiots. No offense to ya'll northerners, but ya'll drive like lunatics up there.

Yep....lol. That is why I stay in right lane and never go over 30mph. Faster than that hurts my fuel economy......

On US 50 this AM in Annapolis. Going 70 in 55 mph zone when I got a car stuck to my back bumper flashing high beams at me. So close that I could not tell what it was. Tapping brakes had no effect . When I was about to pull over the middle lane they passed me on the right and gave me the finger as they sped off. I could then see that it was a MME.
Weird, I passed a guy after he break checked me and I gave him the bird as I passed him.

I was shocked, the idiot had an mme.

I was on US 50. ;)

I don’t know where this freeway is but 70mph in the left lane does strike me as slow even if the formal speed limit is 55mph.

I don’t condone tailgating and brake checking, but you gotta be moving meaningfully faster than the next lane over if you are in the fast lane.

If you are in the left lane, traffic is relatively light, and you are more or less matching the speed of the guy in the next lane over, then you are in the wrong lane.

If you drive 70 in the left lane on Rt50, even the police (particularly PG Co. further west) will tailgate you.

I don't live up there but it's not against the law to that in some states. That's crazy!

Oh yeah as a Michigander originally we are born disliking everything Ohio. However, I do love Ohio's "Left lane for passing only" signs and OHP does ticket people frequently and repeatedly like their getting a cut of each ticket. Usually the slowest state by miles traveled per hour in any of my journeys south.

I drive that road every day (not in the MachE, that's my wife's car). Not condoning riding someone's bumper, but 70mph is too slow for the left lane on Rt50 and probably the minimum for the middle lane.
This was on the 55 section.

I promised my wife I wouldn't drive over 80, so now I really have to watch my mirrors for approaching traffic. If the guy passed you in the middle lane, you had room to move over and let him pass on the left.

I always move over when a car wants to go faster than me. Pissing him off by staying stuck in the left lane does not make anyone safer. Moving over is polite, considerate and the safest thing to do.

RT 50 - Better know as the Washington/Annapolis International Raceway.
Ever experience the sport bikes timing the run from the Beltway to the Bridge? Oh Boy...

Could not safely move over at that point because there was a car in the center lane. After I passed it I would have moved over but of course he had immediately pulled out and gone around me.
People are jerks. The end. ;)

Do you have any idea how odd/funny that sounds to the rest of us to hear Ohio and south in the same sentence? Less north. ;)
