????

That is how you do it!

My MME has been down to 5% several times. I hit turtle mode twice so far driving home from the coast.

Doesn't this low level of battery discharge will lead to premature HVB deterioration ??? My rock bottom limit is 10% and never let go below 20%.
PS: The first time my newly married wife drove my Toyota Corona way back in 1976 she didn't even know there was a fuel gauge till ... she drove till it was below E. Miraculously I caught in time.

Leaving it that low might be a problem. Running down to 5% and charging back up is fine.

Right. I've done 2% once, 3% several times.

Ford Mustang Mach-E Range Anxiety. Maybe YOU have it my wife certainly doesn’t 20211004_211002

After crossing Death Valley, and exploring it for a day, I arrived at the next charger I could use with 7%. The next closest DCFC from this charger was 75 miles away near Las Vegas.

There is a buffer above and below the battery use range. You can never use more than it is safely designed for. If you do somehow damage the battery Ford warranties it for 8 years/100,000 miles. The battery is warrantied to perform within a few percent of original condition or they will replace it. It is on the owners manual and warranty paperwork.

Although Ford only has an 8 year battery warranty , it will last longer before it may begin to fail or weaken. My 2014 Fusion Hybrid was assembled in September 2013, and its battery must be assembled before that. It now has 8 years after assembly yet it works as good as when it was new. And a hybrid cycles its battery charge more often because it is smaller.

Got completely iced yesterday in Cincinnati on a drive down from Columbus to watch the Reds. Drove down to 4% twice on the trip back since I had expected to charge during the game.

This led to my wife suggesting we could stop at the outlet mall on the way home if they had an outlet ? (plug/charger if you don't get it) and credit to Jeffersonville for having 4 free chargers. Took us down to 4% to get there but made it. Not a fast charger so 2+ hours of shopping and dinner and we made it home with 4% left. I was more nervous than she was both times but as it got closer to 0% the gom kept the range at the same distance even as the percentage dropped, so felt confident it was being a conservative at the end.

Credit to Cincinnati for mandating EV chargers in any parking garage that recieved any public funding or subsidy. Fail to the drivers who could care less, and unfortunately to the garages for putting the chargers in desirable parking areas, a level up and they wouldn't have been touched is my guess. This garage was maybe 30% full.
