Did you read the first post? All of your questions thus far are answered there.
It doesn't seem like it really answers the question of why some are failing and some aren't? If there are bad batches of parts, Ford should be able to correlate those to particular VINs and build dates proactively.

Because that detailed information is confidential until Ford publicly acknowledges the issue with how they will resolve it. We will be able to disclose more possibly this week, but definitely within this month.

Interesting, thanks for the info, will wait to see what is disclosed then.

That's really interesting considering mine is in the shop now. Ford service rep called me earlier saying they still haven't heard back from the dealer on my case.

Thanks for the potential update, update. ;)

Sadly my spouse has taken a liking to the Polestar 2 Performance we got as a rental, but I think the $75k price tag will hold her off.

Can you say yet whether the disclosure would include a permanent solution to the issue or just an acknowledgment of the issue?

Well, without knowing any secret things, I think Ford will need to address this in a way other than saying your car may brick itself at any time .... they're having very expensive tows and repairs right now on new cars under warranty.

I think we just need to put a watch on this thread and I'll be updated very soon (unless this is another one of @DevSecOps' pranks)

Just to make it perfectly clear. I put this thread together to put the issue in perspective and 99% of my posts are factual and designed to help others, this one included. We all have fun sometimes and if I ever post something in jest, I say as much.

That being said, I'm not a Ford employee and things can always change which I might not be privy to. I'll do my best to update the thread should I hear of any such non confidential changes to what I've posted.

Has Ford been correlating these issues to particular VINs or build dates? It would be nice to be proactively contacting customers with potentially bad components, instead of waiting until they fail and strand them.
general consensus at this point is this is not a limited run of bad components.... it is an under-designed HVBJB which will likely need beefier Contactors, and possibly additional temp sensor and software to manage 'high loads' better.

Thanks, will be interesting to see if that is what ends up getting confirmed.

what would be considered a “high load”?
